[Recorded 18/4/23] This Jurys Inn like all of them in the UK was renamed to Leonardo Hotels as part of their rebranding scheme which took place towards the end of last year and into this year, but aside from the name change everything else about this place is pretty much the same as it was last time we were here in October 2021. And that of course includes the lifts!
These are a pair of OTIS Gen2s installed at the same time as the lifts in Union Square Shopping Centre with the two locations being directly connected and likely built at the same time, however the hotel's lifts look a bit different to the centre lifts. The yellow indicators and different cab theming being the main difference! But the confusing part is how these two lifts aren't even the same as each other! One's got Resista buttons while the other has Optima/Selecta and the ceilings are different too! I have no idea why this is the case but hey we like unique occurrences with lifts here so I'm perfectly fine with it staying like this! One of these lifts seems to be running a bit rough at times, particularly when it's heading up from lower points in the shaft. Hopefully that'll be kept under control and fixed at some point. Enjoy!
