Podcast is Called : ASN Humans Are Space Orcs , HFY and other stories
--------------
This Story is Classified as HFY or Humanity Feck, Yea , but what does the Mean?
-------------
HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.
-------------
Taken from the FAQ of the r/HFY subreddit.
Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

I can relate to the frustration of having an ad pop up right in the middle of a sentence and interrupting the train of thought for trying to get me to upload an app that I already have or one that is completely useless to me. I especially love it when they are advertising a product for things that I neither want or need.

Machiavelli tried to speak as objectively as possible about a very subjective topic, and came to some counter-intuitive conclusions, that led to the invention of modern political science. Give the man some credit. A reading of Machiavelli can get you any political system, merchant republics, feudal states, Liberal democracies, all he really demands is you be ruled by facts, and not let morality get in the way of governance.

As a Former US Navy personnel, I did like the Black Sunday part of the Story. Very much Pearl Harbor, but with the twist We only took our rage out on the ones Responsible. A very hopeful future that we use reason and not just Rage when attacked. It could have been far worse for the galaxy had we reacted as humans usually do to such atrocities in our history. Cudos for the Terran Federation of your story retaining their sense of reason that it was just the MERCS that attacked, and only that Flotilla.

It's one thing to attack a military dock/base/station with some civilians working there, but on a memorial day with many MANY more civilians than military? You're not just asking, you're DEMANDING that every citizen of that nation (in this case species) becomes your enemy.

TBF, the mercenary groups, as described (and hinted at) had 'bare bones' intel and recce elements within their formations. Nevermind the fact that these mercenaries were entirely composed of xenos, with their own cultural sensibilities and 'mindsets'. By the time the mercenaries launched their ill-fated attack, they were probably little better than criminal cartels with martial underpinnings...whatever 'rules of war' they possessed were, at best, indifferently adhered to as 'best business practices'. The Terrans they faced had military traditions (and infrastructure) that the mercs had long abandoned for pure economic gain...the outcome was certain, the only variable was _when_ the outcome would be concluded.

@@ClokworkGremlin Actually they aren't. The people that own them do however. These are the dreaded "Globalists" people talk about. The main branch of these Globalist companies is BlackRock. It goes far deeper when you start trying to look into who owns and runs BlackRock...but BlackRock, as a management company controls about 97% of all the wealth in the world. Through the buying and selling and rebranding of companies it owns and controls most public companies, including the big Private Military Contractors such as 'Academy' (Formerly 'Blackwater'). The BlackRock company while formerly hiding ties with George Soros, had the odd coincidental habit of buying out the infrastructure and companies in nations that George Soros had destabilized financially. A similar event is happening in Europe atm. George Soros pushed for open borders and "refugees" to destabilize the European economy and plummet property values and now land and companies previously not owned by BlackRock are being bought up by George Soros and sold to BlackRock. Ever wonder why George Soros (a man that previously made a fortune selling out his fellow Jews to the Nazis) was spending so much money advocating for open borders and refugee crisis propaganda?

@@Aden_III Nudging a rock from a month or two out would be faster than diplomacy and you don't necessarily need to bring it far. There are earth crossing asteroids daily that range from big enough to take a car out to city killers and less often world killers. Most aren't found until past us and fewer ever make the news. As to whether we would use kinetics on our own, Why not, there's no radioactive fallout just dust. It would take a while to get occupation forces and colonists there as well.

Good story! And the ads, skips, and ad blocker segments were funny. Although they kept interrupting the lecture, somehow they managed to fit into the overall experience.🤣 I guess almost 6 & ½ decades of exposure to ads from TV, radio, and the internet has somewhat desensitized me to them. I even occasionally look up funny ones on KZfaq, like Digiorno's Area 51 commercial, or the one where their overloaded pizza falls through to the apartment below. I like a lot of that company's commercials, even though I hate pizza.🤣 Actually, it's pizza sauce that I hate. Anyway, the story, and it's ads were entertaining.😄👏👍
