One shrub at a time. This is how we clear brush/trees

I have a 54hp tractor, but no grapple or any other easy way to move brush. Most of the time I use the bucket to knock over and uproot shrubs before chaining or strapping them to the bucket and pulling them out. In this particular case, we can't use the bucket to knock them over because these are on the side of a steep and unstable embankment.
This area we cleared is so pretty. The large post oaks are majestic. In time I'll have a little cabin on this spot.

I would recommend putting an expanded metal screen across the back of your roll bar, if that strap breaks? not good,

You're right. In this case, the strap was wrapped heavily around the stumps. If it broke, it would just be the strap which likely isn't going to do any damage. But could. We usually use a chain. Heavy chain that won't fly up...and we pull things up in reverse using the bucket. The bucket then provides protection.

I worked with rigging most my life. Nylon straps are just as dangerous as steel
