Me to, the batteries last a long timee, I'm still using the same ones from when i made this video without recharging them yet

Once the batteries died, it never woek again. I threw it out . Putting new batteries, recharge batteries, made no difference. I bought the electric Cuisinart can opener over a ye ago now. Much happier

Hi rj whats wrong with it? Won't start? Can't connect to can? Or something else?

@@WannodsPlace the batteries only last about a half a dozen can openings and then they don't have enough power to do anything else. I don't know how Amazon could sell this can opener with it being the junk that it is.

@@rjsmith5071 is yhe brand name"OneTouch" ? Did you use fully charged batteries? I'm using rechargeable batteries and im still using the first set i put in. O bought mine on the ShoppersDrugMart web site in Canada

@@WannodsPlace I don't recall the name of the can opener. It had a large "N" on the start button. Had brand new batteries in it. I like the design and function of it. It needs to have 4 batts instead of only 2.

@@rjsmith5071 i see the N your referring to but the word One Touch should be written on it So many fakes made now a days, and everthing made in china it's hard to know what's a knock off some times. Did you try another set of batteries, try rechargeable if you have some Oh ya mine take 2, I'm really starting to think you have a knock off. Go to onetouch.com and look at the list they sell, see if they have a EXACT match. Suggestion: contact Amazon and tell them you were sold a knock off, they may refund you or make the seller send you another one. Or contact One Touch, tell them your story how you believe you were ripped off on amazon, send a pic of the opener, several. Who knows maybe they will send you one. Please let me know if you contact either or both. I would really like to know what both companies will do for you. Then i will add a update vid on KZfaq telling them your story BUT I promise NOT to USE your name or screen name unless you want me to.

It wobbles and looks like shes going to die or fall off any sexibd but it opens the can every time so far. And i still didn't replace batteries since this vid. I use rechargeable batteries.

Ya I hard a hard time so I had to use a butter on either side of the grey handle. It's been awhile since I made this vid but I'm pretty sure I show how I opened it the first time. If not let me know and I will make another quick vid to show you how I had to use the knife to open the battery compartment under the grey handle. Once I did, I added the batteries and I'm still using those same batteries without having to recharge them yet.

Thanks Iris , i don't know if i should make another video or remove this video. The batteries finally died so i removed the old ones, added the recharged ones but the opener died, i tried everything even adding new regular batteries. Don took it apart, and nothing. It's dead. So i figured about $30 a year for a new can opener seems expensive to me. Example $30 × 5yrs = $150 and keep climbing as years go by. What did i do? Good question Iris, i bought a Cuisinart electric easy touch can opener from amazon.ca , I'm not sure if I can send you a pic but i will pop ovr to Amazon and get you the model number. So far it's working great and you barely have to touch it, I'm definitely not going to say "push" down on handle to start it. It's actually easier to line can to the opener than the one touch. I have sm counters but this is slim enough to fit nicely between 2 other appliances, i hardly even notice it there. I've had it since oct 6 2022. @@WannodsPlace There is usually drawings for Electrical & Mechanical. I have stripped down as far as I can but the next move is critical. I think the final is snap together but I don't know which it has been set up.

@@WannodsPlace Thank you so much, that is so kind of you, but I do not need it that badly, as I have an identical one in my drawer. I just have a thing about throwing things in the garbage, especially when it is just a tiny piece that would put the puzzle back together, however that is on me, my obsessive / compulsive perceived need for order out of chaos. Hi i had a little hard time figuring it out, i thought it didn't work also but then i figured out if i hold can in place with one hand then put opener on can and gently pull it towards you, it will make contact, now hold the opener in place, using other hand to gently begin turning can for a sec or 2 til it starts doing its job, now remove both hands. I think depending on the size of the can, it will make about one and a half revolations befor stopping. If its a really big can like those big cans of tomato juice, about 2-3 litres, it will stop before finishing so dont remove the opener but do as i explained above. I haven't rewatched the video yet but im sure if you watch closely you will see how i hold then gently guide it to srart. Another tip, if its syops before reg size can opens, the batteries may have died, so to move it you will hold can with one hand and push that little button protruding near bottom of the push button, this should release its grip from can. If you're still having trouble let me know and i will do another vid trying to point all this out. By the way the batteries seem to last a long time, I'm still on the batteries i installed when i bought this. I use it a min once a week. Hi again i just rewatched the video, so just kinda take notice of my 2 hands as I'm attaching and starting the operation. I also forgot i reordered the opener because of the battery door not closing properly. I thought it might have been part of the reason for sputtering and almost choking feeling like it was going to die before opening fully, but the new one that closes properly does pretty much the same thing and i dont care so long as it does the job i bought it for. It took a few days to arrive after making the vid so I've been using it ever since. I do use rechargeable batteries without a problem. K i hope i covered everything this time but feel free to contact me again.

Stops half way. Don't like it waste of money. Hand opener works better. Found one that does same thing.
