On Thursday, it was asked if that was a bottle of mustard or ketchup? It’s neither. It’s a bottle of powdered chalk that is used to refill chalk lines that are used to layout walls and features on the floor for others to follow. The layout guys are usually highly skilled at reading plans and making them fit the reality of what was built. Then laying out all the interior walls etc. They usually use chalk of different colors to put down those lines then come along with spray cans of a clear protectant to protect them. In the old days we’d use aquanet or such hairspray since it would protect the lines but wouldn’t last forever. Now days they actually make specific products to do that.

30:50 That's not a bottle of mustard. It has dry powder in it for their string lines. The reel of string sits in a chamber filled with the powder. When string is pulled out and stretched out and snapped it leaves a line of powder that is used as a guide to cut plywood, etc.

The powder is colored chalk.

@30:57 - not a mustard or ketchup container. It is a squeezable bottle with a nozzle but this one is filled with powdered chalk for refilling their chalk line holders.

18:35 why is the spider crane always backsided to it's working area?
@matthewanderson23733 жыл бұрын
I would assume its counter-weighted on one fixed side instead of like a normal crane where the weights are on the turret that spins always on the opposite side of the load.

What is foil for?
@michaelfagan20863 жыл бұрын
Helps seal the curtain wall against the concrete.
@newsnowfresno68733 жыл бұрын
The foil is actually a self adhesive butyl rubber like material bonded to thick foil. The green material they apply before hand is an adhesion enhancer. Note how the different sections of foil are applied to enhance runoff and not trap water, overlapping like shingles on a roof.
