Day three begins with fresh minds and a sense of optimism. E-scouting pays off for Spencer, and with a dusting of fresh snow, makes for an easy blood trail to notch a Montana deer tag. Both Mark and Spencer are on the hunt for new territory to fill another tag and find some November rut action. The rest of the group swap strategies, relocate, and ultimately have to adapt to a major change in weather. #fueledbynature #meateater

I can't get enough of the MeatEater website and all these shows ... even though I'm not a hunter! I do love to fish, but don't get to do that very often, even, so I guess I'm living vicariously through others watching these. I even find myself yelling 'Shoot It, What Are You Waiting For?!?!' every now and then, which sometimes gets looks my way, since I'm usually at work ... 😂

When I get my deer on the ground I set myself the task of getting as little blood on me and the deer as possible whilst removing the organs, this is more hygienic and makes for a better extraction of the carcass

I’ve been wondering why spencer is there also. He shoots the first basket rack bucks he sees. And he is taking the easy route using a rifle. He’s my least favorite to watch

I stopped making an unreal grunt sound to stop deer. I whistle and I truly haven't had a deer spook from it. I do agree a natural stopped deer is best but if need be whistle! In the moment of truth making a realistic grunt isn't very likely.

Unfortunately that's the world we live in today. The metrics show that more people click on enticing thumbnails. Click bait is king now. When all they care about is ad revenue then they are going to do what gets the most clicks.

I hate when guys shoot something and then immediately start making excuses. “I had pictures of bigger bucks”. “It’s not that big”. “ i seen bigger bucks this week”. Be thankful you had the opportunity to go hunting a get something. If you’re going to be that regretful don’t go.

Entertainers hunting. Entertainers giving advice. I’ll stop a buck 85 percent of the time with a quick yell. I hunt in open range with pockets of sage for mule out of rut. Don’t listen to the youngster. 24 years of harvesting a buck, every year. Where is Steve to teach these guys.

Whitetails and muleys are different creatures. The whitetails they’re hunting get a lot more human pressure than your muley bucks, so minimizing movement and noise is the name of the game. Like Mark Kenyon said, make a noise to stop them if you have to, but it is always better to let them stop on their own if possible.

@@SammyMoore-tg5gs we have plenty of white tail here as well. They get even less pressure as mule deer. Where I am from mule deer are way more sought after. Due to amount of meat and size of racks. I have killed white tail as well. Shot the darn thing while it stomped at me. So I do agree to disagree. Mules are way more elusive round here as in they lay eyes on you, gone. Exactly why I yell at them from time to time to get them to stop. Especially in the environment I hunt. Deer are deer. Only smart to an extent. Now if they were discussing Elk, I would absolutely agree. But deer. No way. The Blue mountain Oregon white tails, fish in the barrel. Blue mountains mule, act more like elk. Very skiddish.

@@dp9051 I currently live in NW Montana and also hunt muleys, whitetails, and elk, but I grew up hunting in New Hampshire. East coast deer act differently to the deer out west. You move and they catch a glimpse, they’re gone. You whistle, they disappear. Your gear makes a funny noise, poof! No deer! By all means, keep doing what works for you where you hunt, but don’t be so bold as to think that your tactics are universal to all ungulates everywhere.

@@SammyMoore-tg5gs lmao, I’ll be bold sir. They are hunting Nebraska farm land. I know how farm land hunts. Boldly stated. Lol, too funny. Same deer watch farmer drive combine, alfalfa bailers you name it. All while just standing there. They get more skiddish in the tree zone areas. They have less courage populations etc. don’t give me that nonsense. Entertainers just entertaining. That’s all.
