While browsing Facebook I had seen a post calling for volunteers to head over to Great Mercury Island to help with the Argentine ant eradication program and it was mentioned that there would be plenty of time to go spearfishing. That sounded pretty good so I put my name forward to head over for a week and was accepted!
A couple weeks later I made the Journey from Northland down to Whitianga, hopped on a boat with a team of volunteers and we made it to the island! What ensued was an amazing week of beautiful scenery, cool diving and lovely people!
