This is why recording your journey from the very beginning is so great! You can look back and see how much you've improved. So impressive!

Aww this video was so cute, I did 9 months at a Japanese Language school and while they are great, I agree it takes a lot of out of class time to really get better. Also the school you attend can make a HUGE difference, looking back my school was too rigid with basically no "fun" aspects to learning the language at all. Great video, can't wait to see the next progress vid!

This is sooo true! I've heard so many mixed experiences from other language school students. I mostly like my school, but it does lack the fun aspect too... Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by~^ ^

There's nothing wrong with that TikTok video at all. It sounds like a literal translation but your pronunciation is quite nice and I could understand it. You actually seem to be learning really quickly for a westerner - you must be studying really hard. Do you have Japanese friends? Do you speak English or Japanese with them if so?

Ahh haha that’s for saying that. I do have some Japanese friends. Usually they’re learning English too, so we speak in bother languages and help each other out. It’s superrr helpful and also fun!

My partner and I have been practicing for 11 days now on Duolingo. It's more fun than anything and the progress is slower than how I've attempted to study hiragana in the past but it's better than nothing. I had some money on my Google Account and bought the Human Japanese app so I'm going to start that soon. We go to Japan in Sept for two weeks and I'm looking forward to it sooo much. I'll have to give Genki a try if I get more serious about my study.

Ahh awesome! I haven't tried it, but I heard Human Japanese is a good one. Rather than the Genki textbook I recommend checking out JapanesePod101. I believe they have lots of free content too. Hope you have a great trip to Japan!~
