I'm the tank in the video. First of all, thanks for using and commenting the run. Always nice to hear someone else's thoughts! Re the first pull: I've done a bit over 400 m+ runs this season across 4 tanks. Whenever I play with ppl of higher score, I do pulls accordingly(what is expected). This is one of those rare occasions where I was wrong for assuming we had the damage for it (although, tbh, gear-wise, we did). Re the third pull: Why I went around the corner to los was because we didn't have interrupts, and mage was too far away for a dragon's breath. I would've probably died if I ate that (Cheat Death on CD), and I didnt want to reset the pack(s) that far in. Re me wiping on 4%: I wouldn't do that normally. But I knew this was GG. It was 100% clear to me at this point that even if we down the boss and continue, someone would leave sooner or later. Better to go with another group and not experience that frustration. Re the players in the run: This Tedbandy dude is someone I've played with on several occasions(through LFG). I honestly feel bad for the dude. It's impossible for him to not be toxic. In my experience, the more toxic behaviour = the more miserable a person is IRL. Yes, the others in the group could've ignored, but it was def. Tedbandy that ignited other ppl's toxicity. I've played with most of these people several times (in various groups), and the only one that is consistently toxic is Tedbandy. I hope things improve for him. I do pull very aggressively, but as mentioned, it's because it's kind of expected of me. If I don't, I get flamed. If it goes wrong, I get flamed. So I adjust to what is expected. Most of the times - it goes well. This was not one of those occasions :D With all that said... Holy crap my sanguine game was shit this run. Was literally healing as much as me during the first pull. Got thrown off by so many things that chaos won.

So tank was stressing out his group with overwhelming pulls. They start taking it out on each other and by the time they get to the first boss they are so tilted they can't even do basic mech on a fort week. Tanks should not be pulling like it's a MDI with a random pug group. Too many things can go wrong and snowball out of control. Just got for the +1 or +2 upgrade and be happy with that.

pretty standard Kazzak player, very common for them to be like this in my experience, few days a go a kazzak hunter raged at me for not healing him enough when he kept getting hit by spiteful, and raged that he "didnt get a heal for 5 seconds" on a boss.

I have had the opportunity to play with Tedbandy the past few days on my alt and he was absolutely a crap player in that 13 we tried. He had literally 0 interrupts till half of the dungeon, was below every dps in dmg, no cc-s obviously and dying from every avoidable dmg (standing and casting in swirly, frontal dmg, not using any defs). In general Kazzak players in EU are a different species, but Ted is one of the prime example of it :D

My WoW friend group calls those "Tim pulls" bc I would get way too greedy like that even in pugs. I've learned it's better in pugs to stick to simple pulls so theres no fuss and keep the vibes chill.

Had some passive aggressive toxic earlier. Was tanking a +8 rlp for crest. We ended run 3 chest like 14 mins ahead of timer and the pala said nice 200% run.. Suffice to say the pala was main tank and 3300 score he didn't need it but still needed to comment on my route because obviously his was better..

Fel Domination before key starts so you can summon felguard quick and Fel Domination will be off cooldown again. Its not a huge deal, but its a nice way to summon pet fast without putting it on CD.

I mean, the first one ... "TedBandy" ... that name alone shows how mentally ill the warlock is. And for EU ... yes its more toxic, thats because different language barriers and its way more competetive over here. We all have a huge ego over nothing here, and this shit happens almost in every higher key. There are legit servers you wanna dodge, (Tarren Mill, Kazzak-english) and (Blackrock, Aegwynn - German) and a few more. (I speak from personal experiences here) :D

In many cases, in my experience, the ones that talk the most shit are usually bad. Good players normally just shut up and do their job.

Hey metro! First, I want to say that your videos are actually what gave me the confidence to start doing keys and, while a paltry achievement given the kind of content you do, I have reached KSM for the first time ever and am actually continuing to climb. I think of you often in my runs now because you offer a lot of interesting ideas and commentary, but some of it actual makes me a touch self-conscious! Especially because I never want to be on the receiving end of one of these videos! One thing that has stuck with me is the idea that groups buckle down and finish keys. In the beginning that was very much my mentality given that, as you have said, persevering is the only real way to practice and improve. My problem is that I exclusively pug as a tank or healer, and that, in conjunction with my own serious anxiety and depression issues (I relate very much to Kop), has posed an issue. When I first started mythics that set of factors combined with a commitment to suffer to the end meant that I was sometimes quietly enduring a lot of nasty behavior that only served to hurt my confidence and really just made me not enjoy the game. Healing and tanking are not 'more important' roles, but they definitely have a different set of responsibilities that can open them up to criticism and attacks they don't necessarily deserve. At one point, while looking for advice, I came across folks saying that if you are a tank or healer and you encounter any nastiness or a group doesn't 'pass the smell test,' bounce tout de suite, as you can find another group quickly, and you don't want to get dragged into a shitshow. Since implementing that manner of thinking and quietly leaving keys I don't feel comfortable with without a fuss (and developing a bit of a callous to people's opinions), I have come to enjoy the game a lot more! I have learned a ton and have gotten so much better at using utilities, appropriately managing cooldowns, and putting the success of the group ahead of any sense of personal accomplishment. Nonetheless, when the nastiness does arise, I do feel guilty if I leave a group and especially if I get a combative whisper accusing me of wasting people's time or what-have-you. When I get those sorts of whispers I always try to say "I was uncomfortable and wasn't having fun. Sorry if you feel like I have wasted your time" and usually quickly ignore the perosn. I'm curious what your opinion is on the above advice and how it sometimes conflicts with the social contract. Is there an objective line that exists and determines when one is appropriately justified in leaving a group? Or should it vary person to person? What are your opinions on advice like "turn off chat" given how it can affect coordination? In the event of even an "ironic toxicity" as someone else described in another comment, is it an overreaction for someone to leave the key? I guess what it boils down to is sometimes, when I am taking care of myself, I feel like I am the one being toxic, and I am very curious what your thoughts are on conundrums like that! This is a similar situation to last time, you have a healer that has no kick & 3 ranged silences (24, 45, 24(?) seconds) & Fairly limited AOE CC beyond Fear(which priests almost never use) and warlock stun. That's a lot of dead people in my eyes, lol. For 4 or so extra mobs, really not worth the risk.

I had a DK play almost exactly like this in Shadowlands S1 and he was getting away with it for a few hours until we went to Other Side on a push key and he folded like a lawn chair

Was in AA 14. Me and my guildie were doing around 1.1M dps on Overgrown Ancient, and aug evo suddenly dies, followed by healer and tank - we wipe at like 3-4% of the boss. Aug immediately starts telling us our DPS was crap, we didn't AoE at all, and the big add wasn't killed too fast. Guidie asked him to cut crap talking and mentioned that aug wasn't even stacking at tank during swirls. Aug calls guildie toxic, reports him and leaves. In another scenario, I boosted my brother in HoI 6, and we got a really nice (at first glance) 3k rio tank. We literally killed Irideus like 4 or 5 minutes after starting the key, so everything was super smooth. Yet, after tank died to frog stacks at the corridor, he just rage quit the key. It was one simple mistake on the healer's side, and we would still time it 6+++, yet the tank's ego was too fragile to play with common mortals. But sometimes, it's the opposite. I farmed aspects and went to a BH 7 with French guys. In 7, we did fine, so I proposed to help them with Ruby 9 they got. This time, for some reason, healer died on every pack and on every boss. I think by the end of the dungeon, we accumulated like 20-25 deaths of which 80% was healers' ones - technically, it wouldn't be far from truth to say that we did the dungeon relying mostly on our self-heals and saves, not actual healing. However, our 3.6k rio tank was super patient and only laughed and made funny (non-toxic) comments about healer being first time in high keys. We need more people like this tank, not the mentioned HoI 6 tank. P.S. The funniest (and the most stupid) example of other players' toxicity in my case was a guy, tank, who kicked me even before we started the key because he thought I was double-clicking his summons lol.

The problem with Pull 1 is pretty simple (I'm Tank Main). Basically, most of the tanks(me included, I tried it too) are watching these Strats from their favorite Streamer, but they don't think about that they're 5 premade everyone knowing what to do. So basically is the problem, they copy strats the group is not set and ready for.

This is just the average eu toxicity.

On my demo lock, I usually pop power siphon just before the key starts, but it only has a 30 second CD, so wasting it isn't really a big deal. Not sure what else he could be referring to, other than maybe an intellect pot.

For a pug, that amount of aggressive pulling in an 11 is ambitious at best, toxic at worst. It ends up lying somewhere in the middle which ultimately equals a disband in the first 10 mins.

Couldn't agree more from personal experience. My biggest issues with M+ are a) the group finding process being long and tedious especially for solo dps players AND b) the general toxicity/instant leaver mindset once inside a group. While I don't find the existing M+ changes redundant either, listening to the huge content creators in WoW makes it look as if the average player only cared about affixes, which is definitely not the case. edit: Warlocks can reset their pet insta summon (3 min cd) with a countdown. Nothing major at all unless your pet dies first pull I guess.

of course it was a kazzak player lol. i usually dislike individuals more than a server but fuck kazzak EU entirely; every experience i've had with people from that cesspit has either been an unfunny joke or annoying beyond belief. whenever i'm hosting a group for something they're like the only server i blanket decline regardless of their accolades. like, i'm sure that there are SOME good people on that server, but i think it's like rag/azralon US where it's just not worth sifitng through the refuse to find something decent.

After my experience, I hear the word "Kazzak" and I assume it's gonna be bad. I've had so many experiences like this where other players have just gone at each other, but because it happens so often it has become normal and I think nothing of it (most of the time). I think I should start sending you more footage xD EDIT: I don't mean for this to sound like "OMG Kazzak is the worst, avoid!". But my experience was pretty awful and will stick with me. It won't stop me from inviting players from Kazzak and it shouldn't stop other players too. Toxicity is everywhere sadly, not just one server. I've met some really nice players from Kazzak, not everyone from that server are bad eggs.

The first pull can be done by pretty much any tank and is quite common. That second big pull with all those casters is just a death sentence unless you play VDH, or with an organized group. Kazzak players are known for their toxicity in Europe.

LMAO. i played with this guy on my alt. we were doing ruby and he died to first pull and then died to golem at the entrance while trying to get back to us and left the key.

The lock might have used his quicker pet summon. It carries over into the key start so you can basically insta summon a pet without that button goin on its 3 min CD instead of spending 10 seconds summoning a pet. I wouldnt get heated over it though. Really only a problem if you die the next 3 min lol

My guildy who plays a warlock stack some buffs on a target dummy before activating a key.

The only one who could do the key was the blood DK, everyone else signed up but couldn't do the key. Insane. Go try 6s first? Idk how the mage only presses a 20 second CD 7 or 8 times in the span of 7 minutes, blows my mind. I track CC and ints aswell and always check I really enjoy this DKs UI, really sick to see who gets PI'd I could remove some externals like that from my raid frames and use that instead.

People actually defending the Priest from the Brakkenhide video with "ohh it's your responsibility to manage how you react" are so fucking stupid! They're literally victim blaming, the shaman did nothing to provoke it but he got unfairly targeted just because the priest in question thought it would be funny. Ok I'm going to do something that goes against my very nature and defend this Kazzak player (the thought makes me nauseous honestly but I don't think he was in the wrong here). As a Demon Hunter player myself I understand the frustration when people don't give pre-timer or don't follow the timer (either start key early or late/not at all) now to my understanding it's more common for Destruction Warlocks to pre-pop Infernal as it grants the shard generation buff and the cd resets (at least if you time it so the infernal is spawning during loading screen cause key starting does unfortunately dismiss all pets last I knew) as we can clearly see though this Warlock is Demonology but I assume the same rule set applies to Tyrant except I know Tyrant grants full shards which will usually reset back to 2 before they reach combat unfortunately. It's not like the Warlock was flaming the group or the tank for this mistake he merely sent two messages asking about this. I can also sympathize with him calling for interrupts as it is very frustrating to know that things must be interrupted but seeing nobody use their kicks, and I assume his "fire" messages are him trying to ask the fire mage to use blast wave to knock the packs out of sanguine as the tank seemed to make no effort to move the packs out or in a way that would minimize sanguine exposure. Unfortunately blast wave is an optional talent and I have no clue if mages play it regularily :P The problem with this group IMO is the tank not properly moving for sanguine, the lack of interrupts available and lack of cc and utility usage which leads to them not being able to do the big pulls the tank tries to make without a bunch of casualties as nobody uses their interrupts and sanguine will just outheal their damage. Plus it doesn't help that this Priest gets very toxic towards the end directed towards the Warlock simply because the Warlock is calling for people to use their kit (granted if people don't listen the first couple of times why bother to keep trying?) I'm not Swedish but I am Icelandic and learnt quite a bit of Danish in school cause the Nordic countries have an agreement where they will each teach one other Nordic language in school and Iceland defaulted with Danish (Danish, Swedish and Norwegian are basically the same language anyway with just different pronounciations O:) (sorry not sorry to my Nordic brethren

People rely on VDH now days so much. Im doing the end season keys with my brm monk alt and people always try to force me to pull bigger or even pull for me. And they dont realize that i would pull a whole dungeon if i could, but im not frkn vdh. This is what im seeing in this key, priest has no interrupt , s priest has 45sec cd and we have mage and warlock. So pretty shitty cc/rupt comp without vdh. Changes everything dramatically. I feel like that toxic guys ass has been carried by vdhs and they start to have unrealisticsl expextations. Im so glad that they are nerfing them. Adds some variety to tanks we see. Thats why i choosed alting brm too. To people see the other side of the coin.

Our mythic group we have 1 friend who is "ironically toxic" and think its funny to be toxic when we wipe but we have had several key disbanded because of it. Its is ALWAYS a good idea to just shut up and keep going lol

Yeah this is just very regular EU behavior LOL. I don't think keys get disbanded over this as you said, playing on EU means you're used to this kind of flame.

Toxicity is one of the reasons why WoW stopped being fun for me, as in, I kind of get anxiety for doing any group/raid content in WoW specifically. There's literally no part of the WoW community that has any chill. And honestly, having played a bunch of MMO's, WoW really IS an outlier. I'm not saying toxicity only happens in WoW, of course not, but it's definitely worse than all other MMOs I've tried (Final Fantasy XIV, SWTOR, Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, for longer periods). And as you point out, at that point, it's probably safe to assume that one of the reasons for that is that Blizzard legitimately doesn't seem to care about it.

Don't think any of this is down to tank. All the deaths on that first pull were just people failing to dodge the jumps.

blizzard dont care because there is super easy fix to all your problems - its called guilds and they exist for past 20 years. nobody sane pugs the key levels which you are pugging. people do them in guilds so ofc they experience exactly 0 toxicity. its also not blizzard fault 99% of pugs refuse to use the in game voice tool which is in game for years now and should be baseline tool for m+ grouping .

Are you trying to get a bunch of rules and moderation added like League of Legends for example? I think there's an argument that stuff like that just makes the community worse and the overall sentiment very much worse. I pug all the time and hardly EVER run into any rude or toxic people, we're talking like less than 5% of runs. Rude and toxic people are a part of life, and you can mute/ignore them, and if you really don't like them enough, it's your prerogative to not play with them. You can exit the key, and exit the dungeon, unlucky to get such a terrible person in your group. I ENCOURAGE you to take this action because this will put a social pressure on the toxic person overtime to adjust their behavior as they're wasting their own time most of all if people don't want to play with them after beginning the key because of their behavior. Getting administration or government or rules or laws in place for common "toxicity"(non-death threats, severe harassment, or hate speech which already have rules in place) is not a good idea in most any non-professional setting. Nice people exist and so do rude people, deal with them accordingly to what feels right for you. You're acting like somebody ruining your key or being mean is ruining your credit score or something, like just /ignore em and move on, it's so easy, and it's just some person on the internet taking out some insecurity or bad day on you, don't take it so personal or serious. At absolute worse they've wasted about like 30 minutes of your time and you never have to talk or play with them again. Time being wasted happens all the time, it's a part of life.
