I am already planning to purchase the bow mount. I fish pretty much all lakes and being able to stand and operate wirless is awesome! Thank you for all your innovation! Can't wait to fish my first tournament with it.

Great Points, I'm coming from years on a Skeeter & Ranger Bass Boat so like you guys The Bow mount Trolling and standing is like being at home. The Big Motor/Merc got me to my spots and when I was working Pounts ,Banks, Or Structure out in Open water the Trolling Motor is the way to go. Having a Stern and Bow Mount would be the Perfect setup if one needs it or can afford it. For me I'll most likely stick with the Bow Mount. Thanks One Objective 😎👍

I just bought a trolling motor mount for my Bote Tandem Kayak and should have researched videos first on where to mount. I installed it on my stern and directing my kayak is not the best when trying to travel straight. Luckily I bought rod holders with the same pads. I’ll now add the new pads to the front and make mine bow mounted. Thank you for this video!!!

Bow mount in my opinion is better in a river ( or sea) with current for holding position. Of course flow coming from the front. in fact I redesigned (the mount ) a stern mount motor to put up front so it came cheap and use hand steering (very precise) with two ropes. Foot steering might be even better for hands free. Was able to stand still in front of a pier with strong current and catch a lot of fish while other boats where not able to do that.

Need to make sure your kayak can handle the weight of a bow mount. I know the 2020 Hobie Outbacks don't handle well with a lot of extra weight on the front of the kayak.

I have a side mount and other than the weight on on side the 2ft reach up from a seated position is not a problem. I fish from a tandem pescador. if stability wasn't an issue I could do both with the position of my handle and I can with my out riggers ish. so what about a reach up mount for a back mount.

I’ve got a sea ghost 110 the transducer is in the bow of the boat it sets up in a space the manufacturer built into the boat for this covered with a plastic screen. Works great. I want to put the xi 3 on the bow of my boat. My question is would the turbulence produced by the trolling motor mess up the signal sent by the transducer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ideally i would run both. But i want to comment about the having to sit down to steer if your run a rear mount. I run a side tiller arm with the speed control on the tiller arm. I have a 2 position rest for the side arm. A high and a low. So when iam standing i put the side arm in the high position so its right at my hand while iam standing. I can control speed and steer while standing just fine.

Mounts & gear is still super cool! I just don't understand why a Motor on a peddle yak? Makes more sense to put one on a regular sit on top with no pedal drive & save 4000 bucks!!!

Some guys put the motor on to get to point A - point B then use the peddle drive. Also some events you can only peddle or paddle. So they take the motor off. And then can still peddle. But put the motor back on for other events.

How about sidesaddle bow-mount does that give you the best of both worlds better steering and it will still kick up in the event of hitting something?

I've been kayak fishing for 6 yrs now, started with 2015 PA 12 now I have PA12 360. I don't understand why guys buying peddle driven kayaks & then putting trolling motors on them? Wouldn't you save yourself alot $ & put a trolling motor on a sit on top none peddle yak? Could save up to 4,000 bucks! On the set up! Plus then they need a trailer & are no longer have quick easy launch & able to get into remote un-pressured waters easily. To each their own! But I don't get it? U might as well have a little john boat if u need a trailer...

For the trailer. It’s easier to unload and load a kayak if you got it fully rigged. And not waste a lot of time putting on and taking off all your stuff. And you can’t use a jon boat in kayak tournaments so it’s wouldn’t be useful for some.

I would also add for those of us fishing large bodies of water or running 4 to 5 miles out to a fishing spot, having the peddles for a back up would definitely save you some time and shoulder aches. I live around the Outer Banks in NC and the Chesapeake Bay in VA, so there are quite a few folks that make those runs on the regular. I am having a self debate about this very subject for buying a new kayak whether to get a paddle and motor or peddle and motor. The extra money could mean the difference between getting home just after dark or the following day.

I used to feel the exact same way. Been kayak fishing about 7 years now started with an Ascned FS1(paddle) But i also bought a trailer for my first ascend fs12t non peddle driver so having a trailer is any kayak and vehicle combo that each person is running. As for reaching shallow and hard areas my neighbor (i dont have a trolling motor.. yet lol) still brings his peddles for those tight and shallow area but also incase the motor fails or battery dies so the versatility of the kayak is still maintained. And with getting older having both options keeps getting more and more appealing 😅

Couldn't you just run something like an MG Xi3 off the stern with a wireless remote that tracks and has spot lock etc...?

The spot lock motor setup for the stern isn’t as affective. Especially in current. The bow of the boat will turn around on you. If you have it in the front. Bow will always face up stream

I'm calling you on bull shit. Bow mount on a kayak will always be better. More control and less effort on pulling motor up.

Yes but depends on where you run it. I’m one for a bow mount also. But when running a shallow river with a lot of current. It’s no good. And will break something.
