Tell you what young man .. your an absolute legend. 🎸🎶🕺 Problem is I'm 51 and being tech savvy doesn't come easy.😂 My generation was 25 years old before a pc was available😂😂 Ive spent my hole life addicted to music tho and trying to learn all this so I can have my very own radio station to promote artists that just don't get enough air time,but I digress,keep the videos coming mate and thank goodness for pause and rewind on youtube 😂🕺🎶🎸🇬🇧💙

You and I have the same vision. I'm 50 and want to play music that don't get any air time on the radio here in the U.S. I'm not tech savvy at all. But I been wanting my radio station for a long time now. And I love listening to good music

Nice upgrades from Rode! With more powerful CPU, as well as Wifi+Ethernet, it would be nice to see a future firmware that would let the device itself be a Shoutcast / Internet radio stream source! No fiddling with BUTT software on a PC..

I would love to know of there is a product available that can connect to my mic button on the Rodecaster Panel, that will activate and deactivate an ON AIR LIGHT that I can install infriny on me (eye level) and also to one above the door of my studio in the corridor. Sometimes I forget to hit the mic as I have been so use to the habit of seeing an On Air light come on infront of my when the mic is "hot" during my years at Commercial and Community Stations. The outside studio light will help prevent thr occasional on air interruption I get from others who share my home.😆

What I found useful , connect a monitor , select the turn off mic , so if you are listening your monitor the mic is off

I have a setup with Rodecaster Pro II doing play by play outside the studio. The pbp announcer wants to have a talkback channel to the studio's console and the PC. They are using Team Speak as the interface software. The studio console is an AudioArts and it is only connected to the computer via 2 USB cables. All ideas are welcome. Tom Z

Hi James, Can you please explain to me how you assign deck 1 and deck 2 on seperate faders please, and are they faders 5 & 6 if so have you put the pads on a virtual fader. Which ch's are 1&2 and 3&4 as there only seems to be 1 USB fader. thank you. cheers, Martin

Love all your help and guides. Has there been a Windows version of this video? I am having real trouble getting two different fader outputs to my Rodecaster pro 2 from the two decks on the Virtual DJ software, however I route/assign, only get output from one deck. Do I need to separate soundcards. I don't get a Rodecaster Pro 2 Multitrack option. Am I just dense, James makes it look so easy.

Hello James! So, question. Laptop running virtual dj, virtual dj running radio streaming hosting, connected to Rodecaster pro2, Rodecaster pro2 to main computer, running obs to Facebook & KZfaq. Audio routing problems. Return audio issues I have been getting. Any idea why?

Hey! Could you please tell if it's possible to play a song on one channel, and then play another song on another channel? To switch/cross between songs as in a radio show? Can this be done using the Rodecaster pro 2 only? (And a laptop with virtual DJ of course) Or in short - without a mixer to manually switch songs without an external radio mixer :) Thanks!

Hi there. I got my Rodecaster today. I broadcasted and recorded some audios (I used Soundforge). Either in the trasmission and in the recording, the volume was low. I used the SM7B with 56 as gain and the faders in the highlighted marks. Am I missing some general setting as for gain or volume?

@@scarcorleon, yes, I did. The issue was the settings in my computer, not the settings in the Rodecaster.

Hey, I have a question. Hope you or someone else can answer. When I choose the option to mute the monitors when I open the microphone channel, it's not functioning properly. Because the monitors shut off with any fader open, not just the microphone. How is it possible 🤯

Exactly the episode I was waiting for however, I am thinking is it possible to bypass ur play out software & just load your individual audio tracks onto the smart pads & assign them to whatever channel u want ?

No problem at all - but you are restricted to 56 smartpads as bank 1 has your 6 FX pads and the Ducking/Censor pads. We are hoping that Rode will increase to far more than 8 banks in the future which will be very helpful especially if you are jingle-heavy already (for instance a chart show which requires 40 numbers for your countdown!!). Hopefully soon you will also be able to assign the pads to two channels instead of one, so you can cue up another smartpad while the current smartpad is playing. Hope that helps

Both my shows are 2 hours so it would be a max of 30 audio tracks however with idents & ads that would take it close but I didn’t realise u could only assign the pads to one channel , that’s a bummer so puts me off then unless Rode upgrade that in the future ( & the number of assignable tracks too) as you have said thanks, money stays in the bank for now then , come on Rode, let’s see some better support & upgrades for the radio industry ……

@@SteveAggasild Hi Steve. I agree that at the moment Rode are certainly supporting the streamers and podcasters and also the gamers, so hopefully it will be the radio broadcasters soon. Having said all that I do do love the product. We have two RCP originals and also the RCP2 but for outside broadcasts we are not using the RCP2 at all as it offers nothing new for broadcasters at this stage. We do use it extensively in the studio though. What we do on outside broadcasts is use two RCP originals with a computer attached to each one - one for sending cleanfeed back to the studio, and the other to give us more channels. So we can use all 64 soundpads on the first RCP, and devote one channel to the output from the second RCP which means we can also use the 64 pads on that to give us 128 in all. Admittedly this is expensive but we felt the value for money justifies it for what we use it for, and we got the second RCP for £350 brand new. The prices are tumbling for the original at the moment as lost of people are getting rid of their original RCPs so you may pick one up cheaper if you want to go down that road. I also like the input for a mini jack which is no longer available on the RCP. Hope that helps and good luck with your broadcasts.
