If that was a puzzle, it wouldn’t even be 1800. Pretty obvious deflection tactic; the reaction was because Magnus blundered one he would never miss if taking a game seriously. That said, Judit is amazing and did beat Magnus in her career, along with every great player of her time.

And that's because it's not really a basic deflection tactic. You rarely get to deflect an entiere queen from the defence of a pawn like that. It's not a super hard tactic, but it's easy to miss in a blitz game

I'm terrible at visualisation, so seeing future development is my greatest weakness in chess (so I'd need to spend some time or have a physical board in front of me or pull up Lichess), but: Bd7, d7, d8 (perhaps the best imo) Qc6 are options. They'd all result in losing the queen, meaning you'd play at a severely material and positional disadvantage. Unless there's an obvious "mate in x" I cannot see, most people would counter this by saying that it's no use wasting everyone's time playing a losing game, but to that I wanna point out your opponent can always blunder. And secondly, a draw is infinitely better than a loss anyways. Something I dislike about chess is tradition. In most cases, and especially at this letter, it's seen as disrespectful to play on in a situation like this. Yeah, maybe when there's no time limits, and also when there's six more games to be played afterwards, but there's a clock there for a reason. Imo when playing with time limits below mby 20-30 mins, it should be viewed as disrespectful to forfeit, no matter what. If you'd look at it from the winning players side, the forfeiter steals the winning players satisfaction of getting a true victory. E.g. Fischer v. Byrne (63/64 US Chess Championship). But again, my "analysis" may be way off, but I still stand by this viewpoint.

Unlike Kasparov she has remained in the chess business and while neither Vishy nor Kramnik are their old selves they still generally hold up their own nowadays when they turn up to a tournament. Kramnik had a good performance on the online Rapid Chess Championship yesterday, for example.

No... Every player above 1600 should see it in 5-10 seconds in a competitive game. They missed it only because it was a friendly game, and they were just having fun. What was impressive in Judit's play was the way she was able to make such a powerful attack, reallying only on instincts without thinking. The move itself was relatively simple.

Obviously bro...there are millions and billions of moves that can be played. That's why chess can never be solved by anyone. Also they're playing for the content so yeah its a win win for audience if not Magnus.
