as a mexican, this made me cry! i love it when other people get to experience our culture and see why we love it so much! there are so so many different dishes within mexico to try, each from separate regions with it’s own unique flavors and history! i encourage you to dig a little deeper and do further research (food tasting’s my favorite type:)) into our cultural foods! culture should absolutely be shared and experienced by everyone! much love!

You did a pretty good job at your attempt at Mexican food. It’s a little Americanized but looks delicious regardless. I would say it’s important to always look forMexican creators when looking for a recipe. I think this is one reason I struggle when making Asian dishes, sometimes I don’t find the right ingredients or they don’t have subtitles 😢😢😢

i’m not mexican but my dad grew up with mexican dishes as his main comfort food and he spent a few years in argentina and so did a few of his brothers. i grew up eating mexican food almost exclusively and it is some of my absolute favorite food.

I'm a Mexican and I'm gonna list some of my favorite dishes from my culture Buñuelos are fried tortillas with cinnamon and sugar and they're really easy to make and my favorite childhood Mexican dish Agua Fresca is just straight heaven in summer you can make it with really any fruit but I grew up on mainly watermelon and strawberry it's really refreshing and I definitely recommend making it for summer Menudo (or Pancita) is a type of Mexican soup made with cow stomach and guajillo Chile sauce Caldo de Pollo is a soup usually made when your sick it's made with vegetables and chicken and I recommend for anyone making it to add day old rice to the broth it's not much but it's really good Empanadas (at least the one I usually eat) are made with stuffed corn masa tortillas Elote means corn in Spanish but Elotes are different they're usually a street food with corn covered in butter/mayonnaise with cotija cheese and sometimes Chile powder or tajin depending on if you like it spicy

I know you’re Canadian so maybe you haven’t tried them before, but please try making chilaquiles with corn tortillas. I’ve never heard of flour tortillas being used for chilaquiles, and I promise you, it’ll be so much better!
