I'm on the same "Page" as you, with the notion that the diversity of Band-Maid is what sets them apart, and the ability to write a song that is simple, elegant, emotional. The catchiness and interweaving lines and layers are always there, just taken down a notch. I also agree about Pony Canyon getting a grip on the mix and production. I love Conqueror & I'll always love Conqueror; but boy do I wish we could wave a wand over it to get the same mix that the Maids have been getting recently.

Agree, the engineering on all their latest songs is really good and I really like this song. Saw it during the on-line at TGT, but because it was so unexpected, I may have missed a lot and am so glad they released this. From the lyrics and the setting of Miku wandering around the desert, this really seems like another love letter to their fans in the US. Kanami has said that she wrote a song while on tour and the lyrics fit with the reaction of the fans at all the venues, they loved B-M and B-M could feel that. Also, their kicked Miku off the bus for eating dried salmon all the time.

Band maid is the band that shows what it is like to letting the members doing what they do best. In this case letting Miku do the lyrics and Kanami do the music writing both of who have grown leaps and bounds since their records label took their leash off. western music can learn alot buy doing the same thing with any quality bands who have the talent to write music, instead of having the usual group of music writers who write a huge percent of the music for practically every band in the west

It's a beautiful song, I'm really glad that they don't stick to one style or genre. I would love a bit of funky reggae Maid style!

Don't make fun of Miku slow walking. She's shown that she's willing to run around for a whole video. Keep in mind that Tokyo doesn't have rattlesnakes. On this last tour we were able to see an evolution of Band-Maid bonding with the audience. And vice-versa because of the fan cams. Having gone to multiple shows throughout, I could feel it. And that makes the song even more special.

This song, for me; kind of rounds off the Pandemic era of Band-Maid. Unseen World was frustration, About Us was acceptance/realising/longing, Unleash was..... "conquering" the pandemic and Memorable is about getting back into touring again and being thankful of that.

A moving companion piece to About Us. A nice book end to that atmosphere and emotion. Daydreaming, About Us and Memorable should come with a Band Maid subscription to tissues. Never cease to bring on a slight sniffly cold. The video of Miku having to live out of a disused Piano left on the side of the road by a passing truck. Seems like the band had asked Miku to make her own way to the TLRS concerts. This is concerning but intercut with the Tokyo concert the MV actually looked stunning. They remain to me the most evolved band around. This is Band Maid, a genre of music as well as a band.

Lets see......Beautiful lead vocals, stunning Miku walking in outrageous shoes in the desert! Really nice (just long enough) solo by Kanami, very controlled drums by Akane, subtle but quite effective bass by MISA! Catching tune! Wonderfully put together into a very lovely video! Gorgeous MV. - However, even as a huge Madiac, I'm not yet convinced by this song. - I didn't go a bundle on Mincho's solo, TBH. - Maybe, hopefully time, and a few more listens will change my mind.

I get the feeling that the TGT was a beta version. This MV is the finished product. It just seems more cohesive now. BTW, maybe the truck was delivering the piano to MIKU!

I agree with you saying Conqueror has a flat mix, personally I think it was mixed for radio air play; I say that because any really decent hifi struggles to find that bass line it's really lost and the quality of separation of instruments in this mix is poor, it might as well be mono.

With all due respect, I think a lot of their rock songs are overly compressed, trying to make 'everything louder than everything else', and it kills the dynamics and just makes a wall of noise... one of the reasons that I always prefer the live versions with the Maids....But yes, this song sounds great, and I'd like to hear more of this stripped back style of songwriting from them. In fact. I would love it if they did an acoustic section in their shows....The Christmas okyuji was awesome

Now this is where I really disagree, as I don't like it. I don't hate it either, but it's well don the list of even their softer songs. The problem with it, for me, wasn't so much that it isn't a hard rock song, but more simply I didn't find it catchy at all. Far from being an ear worm, I couldn't even remember it once the video had finished. Watching it again, the chorus comes close to something that could work, but feels undercooked. The verses were just completely 'meh', and the guitar solo sounded like it was by Eric Morecambe - playing all the right notes, but not necesarily in the right order. You mentioned Start Over. I'm not a big fan of the song, but I find that a far better song than this one. I'd rather watch the Start Over MV, even if they re-did it to feature just the annoying couple, than this one. That's fine though. I'm happy for them to experiment and do things, even if I don't like them.

Hmm. I've listened to this a few times now and I just don't like it. I love a rock ballad, but this falls as flat as a pancake for me. I thought it was due to technical issues that it sounded bad on the concert stream, but it wasn't, it's just that Saiki can't sing this song well. She sounds like she's really struggling. Kanami's solo sounds like it came from another, very different song and the other girls all have to speed up to compensate, which sounds very odd. The video is great, though. Can never have too much Miku, po! So yeah, nice Miku-centric video, but the song definitely belongs in the Least Good list.
