Such an awesomely picturesque environment but I cant help notice the trash on the river banks. Malaysia must really do more to protect and care for its natural resources and surroundings. We have so much to be proud of, so let's do more to conserve and protect!

Udang galah is a bit of loose end in malaysia, as some farmers will market it as lobster species.. But the true meaning is fresh water prawn or River prawn=udang galah.. while lobster in malay means udang karang (which probably means their claws).. Because for some odd reason, there is untraditional lobster (rock lobster) that looks liked udang galah but are actually lobster species just without any claws..

Dari apa yang saya tahu, di tempat saya Terengganu, Lonster dipanggil sebagai Udang Karang, sebab habitat udang karang di batu karang. Udang Galah pula adalah udang sungai yg ada pengepit, sebab pengepit umpama ada galah panjang.

Sotong bakar usually uses extra large sotong and large sotong are normally harder, chewy and tasteless. The moment I saw the sotong I knew she's still not gonna love it 😁 Tips on seafood: the bigger the size and the older the animal age, the less sweet it's gonna be.

I came here with the family... I can legitly say: really awesome experience eating BBQ seafood and lamb ever. Definitely a must try :) And yeah, fellow Malaysian who never knew it existed too lol

Yeah every state in peninsular that close to mountain range has friendly waterfall places. Usually, we visited waterfall place during summer/hot season and try to prevent going to such places during raining season. Ask local for their advise you will get the best one. I went with my wife and friends last December and we sat at the same table as you! Like you, we found the food average but it's the experience that's worth the trip. That and time spent with friends. 😄

Kg Kemensah is great. Literally behind my own childhood home. Good the family enjoyed. Probably not for kids but the end of Kg Kemensah there is a jungle ATV (all terrain vehicle) park. Pretty cool riding the ATV to waterfalls.

Beautiful ky ky. As always, he is thinking, listening, watching, trying to understand and later sum up everything. He will have a good memories for years to come just by listening and watching. Love to play with him. Toys and etc. Get a toy racing car and assemble the tracks and get him to race. He will like that game. Nice video as always. Hey Kumar, fire or candles who cares how we pronounce it. We are Malaysians and we understand what you mean. We only watch how we speak when we interract with westerners. I used to love crickets' sound until i had one trapped in my room for a week last month. I couldn't figure out where it hid so i suffered at nights for the whole week. Once I found it and let it out, I learned to appreciate silent nights a lot more 😢

Hey Logesh, udang galah is a type of prawn from the freshwater, and udang kara is lobster, there is freshwater lobster but it's way smaller than the saltwater lobster, some freshwater lobster has many colours and usually people keep them as a pet in an aquarium and most of the common ones people eat them. 😋 . Hey Rachel, could you describe what does the squid taste like? And maybe you could ask Logesh to find a recipe and make a squid dish that you would like. 😁

Macrobrachium rosenbergii, also known as the giant river prawn or Giant Freshwater Prawn. Chinese called them "Big Head Prawn". Those days we used to eat at Tanjung Tualang, directly fresh steam with white rice wine together with egg white.

My Father use to take me there on weekends when i was a kid, all the restaurants and chalet wasn’t there that time, there’s a waterfall if you go further in.. somewhere early 2000’s late 90’s that place has become an underground “Partay” spot, you from States you know what I mean bro.. since then the authority raided and they slowly transformed it to a resort and recreational area..

Blue spiny lobster..river lobster..in Sabah we just call it Udang Sungai besar..normally we only came across..udang sungai,udang laut and udang harimau.

I went there with my fam, the food was good, but the terrain was a wee bit sharp and flies. Flies were invading our food.

Just a little tip walking along stony rivers. Bend your knees. You'll have a better balance and can "save" yourself easier incase you took a wrong step.

About the sotong, is taste or the texture that Rachel doesn't like? For me, I preferred overcooked sotong.. where it's tougher. I don't like the soft texture, kinda like gummies, which I don't like.

OK, let me comment on something abt udang galah. So, another name for Udang Galah is fresh water big head prawn. If the prawn is fresh, it is supposed to be sweet without adding any seasoning. When I was young, we would go fresh water spear hunting. we would go diving into the cold frigid river water at night but my friends are experts not me. One night we can only get a few prawns and fish if we r lucky. If my aunty knowa I am going, she would wait for me at our house bcoz we would cook it with maggie mee and it would taste so sweet. It is different farm raised and sea prawn. it my state in Sarawak, we could hv them is restaurant if they can get supply. The last time I came back from Sarawak and bought some frozen one for $70/kg, it was so much different from d fresh ones. The most enjoyable/ delicious ones are cook them fresh as big prawn soup noodle. I heard it's RM35 a bowl now

i just watched a few of your vid, idk if abg kumaar dh buat vid pasal ni ... cuma saya nak tanya abg kan membesar di malaysia (asian basically) and we all known how strict malaysian parents is toward their children, im not sure if you experience the same strictness of malaysian parents but if you do... i wanna know how you became so gentle to zae zae and ky ky ... i believe how american raise child and how asian is totally diff ... do you re learn about parenting or mix with asian style ....

Not true! I'm from Mexico City and we do that in Xochimilco. Except there you're actually floating on a "boat" (trajinera) and people paddle up to sell you food.

Sotong bakar is the best...I'll pass those crabs and shrimps n lobsters in a heartbeat. Love this seafood meal dalam sungai.Cool concept, pun intended ☺ You guys must be in CA by now.Am a bit disappointed you only stuck around Lembah Kelang this time around too. Next trip you have to go around the rest of the country.There're a lot to see and experience.

I usually cycle here since I was 15. I had cycled offroad all the way to the Klang Gates Dam. Very nice vibe and scenery.

The food taste really good but you need to keep on checking the weather before you came here. Rainy season some more. kepala air you know, sungai. The staff is experienced on handling this. Good job.
