Marvel’s Big Green Rage Monster has always been a fan-favorite character. There’s so much to like that the powers that be have tried a few times to launch a solo film series around the character with mixed results. 2003 saw a standalone film starring Eric Bana but that wasn’t received very well, and then the character actually was the second character to get his own solo movie in the MCU, with Edward Norton stepping into the big grean meanie’s purple signature purple shorts. Now that 2008 movie is a bit of an odd duck in terms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it has sorta been altered thanks to the replacement of Ed Norton with Mark Ruffalo. And now Ruffalo has made the character his own with a fascinating character arc that some could argue hasn’t been fully resolved yet.
All we’re saying is, we love the Bruce Banner character as well as his alter ego. So we thought today we’d dive into an interesting factoid about the gamma radiation-infused Avenger that many people might not know! Are you aware only two enemies have managed to draw blood from the rage monster? Abomination and the giant wolf known as Fenris have pierced through the character’s green skin. And that’s something even Thanos wasn’t able to do! So what made these characters so powerful and what does this mean for the future of the jolly green giant? Well let’s discuss!

I am excited about the semi-confirmed World War Hulk movie. I wanna see Hulk go beast mode, but I am getting the feeling, that Hulk will kill a hero in that movie, if he becomes a villain. I think, that that movie could also have Wolverine. Also, if Hulk beats Wolverine in this movie after only one fight, the vengeful Wolverine will go after him later. And Hulk and Wolverine should fight only once here.

Thanos did make hulk bleed though, after the fight when hulk was knocked out, we saw how he was bleeding a bit

Incredible hulk is by far my favourite interpretation of Hulk, he was very muscular but boney at the same time. He was super vicious too. The new hulk was just very bloated and angry but i never felt scared when watching him, the only time I would say would be in the first avengers when he turned in the Heli carrier.

Hulk also bled in the fight with the Chitauri (bloody nose), the fight with abomination (It's MCU canon. Abomination stabbed him with one of his spines when he had Hulk pinned against the wall), The crashing helicopter in the same movie (when he saved Betty, he had a huge gash in his shoulder), and the fight with Thanos. Plus, he lost a tooth in the fight with the Hulk-Buster armor. You may want to update your video or change the title.

I really loved Edward Norton's acting of Bruce banner as he had a lot more screen time playing as Bruce banner plus I really loved the contrast and how timid his character was and how brutally aggressive the Hulk was not to mention the design of the Hulk's character was brilliant and flawless with all the cuts in his muscles even down to having a ripped six pack the veins popping out more and his facial expressions when he grits his teeth and the menacing look in his eyes was top tier.

I liked Edward Norton's hulk as well Edward Norton definitely played a much better Bruce banner and the design for Hulk in that movie was so much more realistic especially with his facial expressions when he's fighting abomination... I would really much love to have that design back. And I don't know why people say that that movie was bad because it was so good that they didn't have to make another one lol

Hulk is my childhood hero, and while he started out strong in the movies, he does seem dialed down in the later movies...which makes my inner child cry lol. They really need to figure out the whole ordeal with the movie rights so they can properly portray him! I too also preferred Edward Norton's take on Hulk versus Mark Ruffalo's.

As many others have already said, Hulk was bleeding after Thanos beat him down and slammed him in the opening of Infinity War. But they definitely missed how the Chitauri army made him bleed in the first Avengers film. Go to the moment right before Iron Man flies the missile through the worm hole and everyone is looking up and watching him. Hulk's nose was bleeding when they show him looking up at Tony. Edit: They even show the scene I'm talking about in this very video at 3:50

4:38 just realized that man-things head is shown on that building there... Also i too think that Ed Nortons Hulk was better. The muscle and veins stood out more, and this along with his facial expressions made it a lot easier to piss yourself when encountering him. This was also good because it contrasted with the gentle, timid side of him you see at the end of the movie when he talks to betty. Overall, Nortons hulk was a lot more comic accurate

I remember seeing the old hulk tv show when I was little. Thought it was awesome but I also misunderstood hulk to be a bad guy hyde in a jekyl/hyde type situation. Ive been glad he turned out to be a good guy.

at this point the mcu hulk is completely different from the comic, best example is his power doesn't truly work in the mcu at least the anger=stronger anyway, i think it only happened once and that was the mcu movie that made him part of the mcu

Fernis The Wolf (bite wound) Abomination (scratch and stab wound) Thanos (mouth, nose and body wound) Hulkbuster (technically because Tony knocked out hulks tooth and when your tooth comes out, no matter what, it bleeds) The Chitari Army (made his nose bleed) So, I don’t know what your talking about the only 2 villains to make him bleed 😐 This is all my knowledge, if there are any more, please let me know.

Yeah they really change the mythology around them. Including the fact that both Halle and if I'm not mistaken fear or February however you call the dog we're supposed to be Loki's children not Loki's sister in Hellas mouth. If I recall he was trapped tied to a mountain by ribbon having bit off one of the Asgardian arms that he asked to hold in case they betrayed them which lo and behold they did before

@@joeljames2683 no Marvel comics is just that. The MCU is what I was referring two. Someone mentioned being cut up into pieces (I assume during the devil Hulk run) but what I mean is.. The MCU basically destroyed the Hulk entirely and that has never happened. They made him look like a joke in Thor 3 and even worse in IW and Endgame. Remember, the basis for Hulk is that he is feared even by the Avengers. That fear has been constant since they created the character. So they don't fear him and he doesn't have the rage anymore or the Hulk persona in general. When Natasha died, we should have seen the Savage Hulk return but instead they kept him as tech support.

The reason the fang pierced that time was because in the other bites he took, his smaller teeth grabbed hold of hulk. Whereas in that bite his canine made a clean perfect contact. I think

Unfortunately, they've never really addressed or hinted at the angrier = stronger bit in the MCU. It seems they have run with a plateau for his strength. If I remember right, Prof Hulk supposedly sacrificed some of Hulk's strength to regain his intellect, but we see no real evidence of this in endgame.

@@theserpent8667 marvel needed a villain to beat up the avengers 2 big dogs, and they needed to prove that Thanos wasn’t fooling around, that he was different from the other villains, nearfing the Hulk only proved one thing, that he was way to strong of a force in the movie and in endgame, in infinity war I probably would have done nothing to the Hulk if I wanted to keep the plot line marvel wanted.

i feel like its because fenris or fenrir is one of the strongest characters in norse mythology, able to snap the best asgardian chains with ease and was smart enough to sniff out odins intent when dared to wear chains made by the dwarves called Gleipnir. the term of wearing said chains was the tyrs had to place his hand in fenrir's maw so if there were any tricks he'd lose his hand, i'd like to add that he's also loki's kid

@@wadewillson9220 i always understood the comics as just a reference, they will make sure the character has the same name, same look, same personaity. relationship, use the same story elements and lore, but the power of the superheros are very inconsistence in the comic books, one might say they can do one thing and others might do another thing, its all about what they decided to choose for their reference point, and the comics are not a good place to go off of in most of the cases, comics dont always transition well into actual movies

Not sure if someone else has seen it to but on the part of his vid where asgard is shown at its fullest I think there is a object floating around bottom left area from left to right I think that is fenris looks like the dog or some sort of ship

Having the scar in Ragnorock wasn't really a continuity thing for Waititi. Like you said, not only is it not shown in any other movie it actually heals cleanly in the Hulk movie. Which is pretty consistent for the Hulk. I think Waititi just thought it would be cool to have the Hulk have battle scars and to tie him closer to the other movies.

what if its an even more grander design, he got the scars because he remained as hulk that entire time, since hulk usually reverts back to banner, but he decided not to, he didnt have that sort of a reset on his body

This is why I was confused as to why he was scared of thanos, I mean I understand dude had 2 infinity stones but wouldn’t he just get even more angry, only explanation I got is that thanos probably used a stone to make hulk not be able to come out but even then 🤷🏽♂️

he was scared because hulk is always the one beating people up and being the stronger one, and the fact thanos was so much stronger and tactlic than him and able to counter him so effortlessly, it made him feel weak and vulnerable

One thing about the real hulk is he ain’t scared to fight, he has a ego and sees himself as the strongest And he doesn’t get scared when he’s losing if he’s losing then he gets angrier, mcu hulk is just a green ape

Thanos is also a person who made the Hulk bleed too. In Infinity war, Thanos kneed the Hulk in the face and broke Hulks nose causing it to bleed

my theory for hulk bleeding in the water is kinda the same as how glass if you try and cut it it will just shatter then if you cut it underwater it works perfectly fine

I have to admit I do like the Ed Norton version better. There are things I would like to see them bring back. I liked the look of the Ed Norton Hulk better, he looked much scarier, he was much more shredded, it was almost like you could see the gamma radiation glowing through the veins of the more vascular version of the Hulk (which I really liked) I also liked the glowing eyes, you could tell via his eyes that he was getting angrier and therefore physically stronger. The Ruffalo version resembles a big ape, and thanks to the Russo brothers the Ruffalo version looks like a wimp, he gets his butt kicked on the regular, being defeated by the Hulk buster armor (which is b.s.) Thor would have won their fight in Ragnarok if he hadn’t been “shocked” (and what’s up with that? He controls and manipulates lightning through his body, but can be tasered into submission?) and then Thanos beats him effortlessly without using infinity stones (again, b.s.) and then he becomes arguably the weakest version of himself by becoming professor Hulk. So now he’s posing for pictures with kids, and he needs Antman to save him from being drowned/crushed under the rubble of the Avengers compound. Isn’t this the same character in the comic version who held up a mountain? While I’m enjoying the stories of the MCU, it is disheartening to see them undermine their own characters by downplaying their strength and powers. I mean, Captain Marvel the strongest member of the MCU? Political correctness anyone? Don’t get me wrong, if the character had always been that way I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but even in her “Binary” form she was never a match for Thor or the Hulk, and her character now is considerably less powerful than she was then. Or at least was the last time I saw her on the regular in story arcs. At any rate, I wish the would bring the characters back to full power.

I did some research on Edward Nortons hulk and they ditched norton because he was constantly feuding with the director, his co-stars and the production team. Shame as I really liked his hulk.

Fenris is known as the fangs that pierce the gods so I wouldn’t be surprised if an artifact made from one of its fangs is able to pierce hulks skin or a god or godlike being

My theory as to why hulk lost to thanos is because he was so used to absolutely destroying people on sakaar then when he fought thanos hulk was expecting it to be a breeze

hulk was never invulnerable, but he has rapid healing / gets stronger as he gets angrier. He can literally be strongest if you piss him off enough

my take on the giant zombie wolf. first, i don''t consider it as a zombie because zombies do need to breath and eat... they have been reanimated but in order to move they need their physical system to work the normal way, the only missing part is the brain that is though working to move the body, it is no longer voluntarily thinking logically. second, for me the wolf is not floating in space after asgard exploded, simply because asgard "exploded". anything within the blast, especially those in ground zero will be physically obliterated by the massive force from the explosion.
