water charge: like a water balloon, it extinguishes fire in an area of effect making it a useful tool compared to using water buckets which don't do very well at extinguishing everything and is a hassle to maneuver with. earth charge: an alternative to mining in that it breaks blocks, one would not completely break a block but instead cause cracks to form (slight area of effect as well), the more durable the block is the longer it takes to break, these also deal 2 whole hearts of damage to enemies when thrown at them but does not stay in the air long enough to reach far distance like that of a bow or crossbow and has a longer cooldown. Edits: Fire charges should also become throwable. Snowballs should cause the freeze debuff after being hit multiple times and can be used to slow enemies. Crafting recipe for earth charge is 2 cobblestone and 2 mossy variant. And the recipe for fire charges are 2 coal and 2 sticks.

For water charges, can't you just use some splashing potions of water? (Or snowballs, if you don't want to call them ice charges.) There are also the spit of llamas, but you cannot possibly use them... Can you? As for the earth charges, there are arrows (wood and flint), TNT (although you might need a cannon), or fireworks (made with gunpowder, don't start a fire...). There is also sand and gravel, but it might be hard to throw it in any direction other than down. (Or just throw an egg, if that counts as earth.)

honestly a cool water charge would be making it a use of the Hearts of the Sea, since you pretty much only ever need to get one or two despite buried treasure being pretty common and it being a guaranteed drop. That said, it would be kind of tedious to go around looking for buried treasure every time you ran out, so maybe elder guardians could drop several hearts too or guardians could have a rare chance to drop it or something

In 15w14a, the love and hugs update (very fitting for today), skeletons used to drop bonemeal much like a chicken except WAY more frequently.

It scares me that I get the reference in the description even though I've never watched it.

They should make throwable spongeballs that can absorb a single block of water or dry out a water mob (dealing lots of damage and making them start to suffocate), but once they absorb water, they can be thrown again to replace that water somewhere else, which can extinguish fire. *water charge*

It would be cool if the water charge made a random burst of water spill out of where it hits- like if you put down a water bucket,except there's no water source left over, just a splash. You could put out fires from a distance without having to clean up tons of water afterwards!
