Hosted by Deborah Hutton, BIG gives six morbidly obese people a second chance at life. From day one, a weight-loss expert and trainer will take over their lives and stay with them for 12 months, 24/7. There will be no escape or backing out in the mission to turn around the lives of these people and their families forever.
BIG is the ultimate lifestyle-changing program. It offers no contests, no prize money, and no hiding from the temptations of everyday life.
In one-hour episodes trainer Lee Campbell works with someone who weighs 150-250kg and desperately needs help. During each episode their 12-month journey to a healthy body will be revealed step by incredible step. This epic transformation will not only totally reshape their physical appearance but completely alter their inner perceptions, their relationships, and most importantly their outlook on life.

Why do these reality shows shows put people through crazy intense 2 hour+ workouts? Most people in this situation are very prone to injuries. They could lose a ton with a 400 calorie deficit and 30 minutes of training per day... Full body resistance training every other day. Walking the other days. A couple of lbs per week equals 100 lbs in a year. They will avoid injury and learn something sustainable. Need it faster? Fast one day per week? You don't need to train 2-3 hours per day like a track star who has been conditioning for years.

You're assuming Laura's behavior is malicious (just like the woman trying to lose weight is). People often get more irrational and angry when they're hungry. Maybe your friend was toxic. Or maybe you just got more sensitive because you were hangry. Some people don't know how to support someone because everyone needs support in different ways. That doesn't mean you should automatically assume the worst of the person failing to meet your needs. The only thing she could point to Laura doing that was ticking her off was Laura inviting her to eat food or go out with her. Oh, gawd, the horror of a friend trying to include you. If she had an honest conversation with Laura about what she needed, Laura may well have stopped the behavior that was annoying her. Honestly, maybe you should ask yourself if you were the toxic friend or at least be willing to consider that you were 1 part of a 2 part problem. I've heard too many women cite the reason that another woman was displaying certain behavior because they were jealous as a way to 1) justify getting them out of their lives for other reasons or 2) be able to feel better about themselves. The fact that this girl resorted to telling Laura she was leaving with a note instead of to her face tells me she's immature enough to blame others for her feelings.

Whether it's a friend, family member, boyfriend or husband there is always some one who'll be threatened by your weight loss. You have to not buy into the negative reaction to your successes. Shame she regained 8 kilos but without professional motivation, there is always likely to be a problem with sustaining a healthy lifestyle. It's likely that she went on to use food as a comfort and so the whole sorry cycle begins again. That said, I believe she is a nice person and despite leaving her friends behind, she did what she thought was best because maybe a face-to-face was just going to result in that first friend trying to persuade Bonnie to remain. That so-called best friend was not in the least bit encouraging. She was applying make-up and drinking prior to a night out, knowing Bonnie was trying her best to refrain so I'd say the friend was the insensitive one. Much love xx

Look at videos of people in the 1960s & 1970s. Very few people were like this! It has been the overwhelming amount of convenience, processed food that first world countries have in abundance, with sugar & chemicals that turn on the addiction process in the brain. PLEASE, if you see this happening to your child - intervene in a huge way. Eating whole, God made in nature food, makes all the difference.
