I would not ride it till you get it fixed . I couldn't get the basket for my son's during Covid and it grenade . You walk out of the shop at anywhere between $ 3600 to $ 4000 .

It's outrageous that you have to spend $400 just for piece of mind. It would be easy enough for Yamaha to go back to the old design, but I guess they like forcing people to buy an expensive part.

Man I remember you telling me in one of my videos to change it and I’m finally going to do it 😅 quad has been running fine but don’t want to push my luck mines a 2014 YFZ450r. It doesn’t seem to hard of a job. thanks for the video brother awesome quads!

It can be hit or miss like this quad had some time on it and now it was starting to go. Probably minutes away from grenading. Its very easy if you have any more questions feel free to ask and i can help.

When I go to pull the hub out on my 2020 it comes out about half a inch an stops like it’s hitting something

Try rotating it then pulling it out. Also make sure you remove the washer in front of it.

When ordering the Hinson basket you have to take off the gear on your oem one and put it on the Hinson, it still reuses the springs on the back doesn’t it? I put a Hinson basket in my other yfz years ago but can’t remember if that’s what you have to do

just bought a 2018. already ordered and received new basket, lock washer, and thrust plate. ain't taking no chances with my investment edit: my best guess is Yamaha changed it to profit more off of parts after selling the bike. planned obsolescence is a bitch, benefits companies while screwing the consumer

This is for the efi clutches only. As far as i know i have never heard any issues with the carbed clutches

Idk man I have the rubber bushing clutch and it's noisy AF.

hey i did this upgrade a few days ago step by step and when i starter the quad the clutch was making a loud whirring noise only when in netrual with the clutch out, and also sound loud when i was moving in gear. any idea what it could be?

Does the clutch assembly of the YFZ 450R 2024 fit perfectly on the YFZ 450R 2009? without adaptations?

Everything is interchangeable. Just change the basket, washer and you can re use everything else.

My manual is showing the 2009/2010 basket which has no judder springs but looking at rocky mountain part#16 goes in first then 15 second then the clutch pack they kind of sit against each other acting as a spring hope this helps

@@ononewheel7 yeah one is a spring that has flat side and the other has a flat side and a like a rounded side, I put in new clutch plates and fibers and I have tension when I pull the clutch in but when I put it in gear and let out on the clutch is doesn’t move
