OBSCURIST TOURIST 081 - King's Highway 7 - commonly referred to as Highway 7 and historically the Northern Highway - was opened in 1920 and once measured 716 km in length at its peak. It connected Ottawa in the East to Sarnia in the West, but today it is now just 535.7km and a shadow of its former self. Come along with me as I drive down this historic highway back to Toronto.

Reminds me of Highway 69 between Parry Sound and Sudbury. Lots of abandoned motels and gas stations.

For real! Very same feel. A bit more on this stretch of highway and less remote than Hwy 69 feels at times, but very similar indeed.

Gone...like so many other wonders of the not so distant past....an era soon to be forgotten...what one generation builds up the next tears down.

I used to watch the Caladon independent channel late night for the creepy Mr Bear show. Thanks for bringing me back to my childhood. Loved this video.
