There's an earlier point in the show where Dave was telling us an anecdote about Taylor while some drum techs were working on the kit for the next drummer, not sure if it was in the broadcast as I've not seen that yet, but at one point he's just recalling something funny and saying about how he'd looked back at Taylor, at which point he actually glances back towards the vacant seat behind the drums and you see this visceral moment of recognition in him, the painful reminder that his friend is not there. He carried on with the anecdote with barely a missed beat, but for that one moment you saw a flash of pain as he turned and for a split second had expected, as he had done so many times before, to see Taylor sat there smiling at him. Heartbreaking.

Not a single person in my row had a dry eye. We were all BAWLING. And don't even get me started on These Days. I still can't stop picturing the pain and anger and heartache on Dave's face when he answered the crowd's 'It's alright' with just this SCREAM of "EASY FOR YOU TO SAY!" The GRIEF in those words and on his face - I will never ever forget it. The connection between us in the audience and Dave in that moment was so fucking powerful, I've never experienced anything like it.

Yep I started crying uncontrollably at that point, he's had his best friend pass away and only just had his mum pass away as well. I fucking love Dave and my heart breaks for him. If they do decide to kept the band going and they come back here, it's going to be an emotional experience that's for certain.

To watch your favorite band, your favorite singer grieve so humbly and be so vulnerable in front of the world, CRUSHED me. I cried the entire set they played. This is why the Foo Fighters will ALWAYS be the best band in the world. Dave allowed us “all” to grieve together to “love” one another in this tragedy. Although so painful, it was incredibly healing ❤️‍🩹

I didn't get to see this until now. I've been a drummer seventeen years he's been an inspiration for all seventeen. Mr Hawkins has not just been an idol to me but hundreds of thousands of drummers the world over. This broke my heart. Give it up for the big man. Dave and co must have really fucking struggled with this and it's a testament to their strength that they got through it and shed light on such awful tragedy. Absolutely beautiful.

That performance was the first thing that came to my mind when Dave sang the first verse then I just broke in tears, I can only imagine how much weight he is carrying right now and I hope this concerts help him to drain that pain doing what he love the most.. playing music!

Dave's mum also died a short while ago. He must be going through it right now. Massive respect for him trooping on and putting on the show of the century.

I was there last night and witnessed it first hand. Completely heartbreaking but I felt Taylor was there watching over and smiling down on us all ❤️

Dave is such a bright light and to see him and the band in so much pain was heartbreaking. This event will go down as one of the best concerts ever. There was a theme of young performers who played and sang brilliantly. The Foo Fighters are huge believers in nurturing the next generation and what better way to honour Taylor than to bring these talented musicians onto one of the most iconic music venues in the world. 💜🌎

I’ve had the exquisite pleasure of seeing the Foo Fighters perform live several times. Each concert is unique, each concert is a piece of who these amazing artists are. It knocked the wind out of me to see Dave as somber and ragged as he was last night. For the first time, his energy, his hope, his love of life seemed dimmed. It was heartbreaking to see. Hopefully, this concert reminded Dave of just how much he is loved. Hopefully, Dave will find the courage and the love of music to pick up the banner once more and play on. I had tickets to see them in Los Angeles before the passing of Taylor and was understandably shocked and saddened by the news of not just the death of Taylor, but, the obvious hole left in the band mates that remained. No one can ever fill the shoes of this amazing friend, confidant, Co writer and muse. Hopefully, after enough time has passed, Dave will be able to look upon his time with Taylor as a blessing. And with that knowledge in hand, he will continue to press on, spreading his talent, his passion and his love of both music and life with us again with as much enthusiasm and conviction as he has always done. But… until that time comes, understand that we will always be here for you. Patiently waiting to share and receive the love that you have helped create throughout your life. Damn that made me cry... life has so many incredibly powerful moments.... some are amazingly awesome and others are truly heartbreaking.

My water works started the minute they cued up Aurora with all of his photos. He was so damn proud of that song, because it was the first time Dave really let him run with it on drums. I still can’t listen to Aurora, or On the mend without a wave of emotions coming over me, now add times like these to the list. It sucks, I hurt over a man I never met personally but felt I knew for decades through interview, live shows, and albums. I can’t imagine how they’re feeling, what it was like to play their set without their heartbeat behind them. They all looked so happy to be jamming out with their peers and idols, but as soon as their own set started you could feel that the reality of Taylor being gone hit hard. Whatever they decide to do as a band I fully support. Would love to hear new music, even though it’ll never be the same, but if it’s too much, too hard, or would be awkwardly forced than I’ll just keep appreciating the 27 years worth that they gave us all.

I was in tears start to finish period... Just a mess. What a monumental memorial moment in rock history.. it was perfectly befitting for our legendary Taylor Hawkins. I'd like to share with the community another connection - (you can read the article where Taylor hawkins almost quit the band in early foo fighter years, -) but it went like this, taylor and dave had an argument with taylor wanting more of a democracy and dave later saying my band you don't like it leave.. and taylor said i quit... This is during the recording of the album that "times like these is off of" after coachella, dave and taylor worked it out and dave big brothered taylor through it. With dave telling taylor something aling the lines of your going to drum the shit out of this and it gonna be great... Its times like these, we push through...and that is another correlation to that moment when dave broke down on stage... Sending love to all of our rock community, taylor's friends, and fam as we mourn together yet another loss in the rock world.. Thank you, Taylor we love you and see ya when we all go home.. can't wait for that epic concert

A month ago rumors started pouring out about a Pantera reunion. The rumors were met with a bunch of yays and nays. People started fighting and a lot of middle fingers were flashed. Some people just want to hear the music while others just want respect to be shown to the dead. Some say that the "reunion" is to show love to the dead...but some disagree. I disagree. Then the Hawkins tribute concert occurred and the world seemed to fall to it's knees. This is how you remember someone. Not with rebellion. Not with greed. But heart felt memories that shake you to the core. This was a proper memorial.

the first time i watched this and I saw him standing with the hawk above him, I started absolutely bawling. taylor passed away 2 months before a friend of mine who had leukemia did. that feeling of emptiness and grief mixed with having to keep going because that's what your best friend would have wanted, and now you have to live enough life for the both of you. yeah. I wouldn't have made it through with as much poise as he did. I would've sat on the floor and sobbed. Dave Grohl is a master of grief and an exemplary human being.

Standing in the crowed last night I had tears in my eyes, and again during “Best of you” and “Everlong” then there were the tears of joy when Taylor’s son got on his drum kit for “my hero”

i sobbed uncontrollably when i watched the concert. I've been a fan of Tayor and Foo Fighters since the beginning. I was so shocked when he passed that i didn't grief, the concert yesterday hit me like a ton of brick. Thank you Dave for fighting through what i would imagine to be one of the toughest days of his life.

Myself and my wife were there. It was an honour to share the day/night for and with the Foo Fighter family. I was tuned into the lyrics of Dave's times like these fracture. "Should I stay or run away? And leave it all behind?" which is something I think he has and will seriously struggle to reconcile. RIP TH your spirit continues to influence others.

With respect, I'm not sure I agree with you here. The specific lines Dave really struggled to get through ("I'm a little divided, do I stay or run away, and leave it all behind?") are really probably much more front and center in Dave's mind. I'm not sure he's thinking back to a single concert event 3 years prior. If anything, my suspicion would be that he's been going through similar levels of grieving (and I'd wager probably more) to what he experienced when Kurt passed away. So to be in the situation where again you've lost someone close to you, I could foresee that being a more prominent thought for Dave when posed with the lines of "I'm a little divided, do I stay or run away, and leave it all behind?". Ultimately, that's just my opinion, and I think we need to respect and be thankful the fact that Dave and others were willing to put themselves out there with what was always going to be an unimaginable emotional event to celebrate the life of one of the most amazing drummers and musicians the world has seen in a long time. Rest in peace Taylor. I hope those you left behind can find peace and solace in the music and energy you brought to the world.

Since that show taylor helped him sing it, his made up words replaced the real words in my head. A million hugs to dave.

First Kurt. Then Taylor. Then his mother. Three people he was incredibly close to. And there’s not one thing anyone can do or say. He’s never going to get over their deaths. Bc you never do. You learn to live with the loss and the grief and the hole in your heart that they took with them. Hopefully, with time, the pain won’t be as raw and intense. My heart truly goes out to not just Dave, but Taylor’s family, friends and fans. To everyone feeling his loss. This is the consequence of love.

We were lucky enough to have tickets for Wembley, this moment was fucking heart breaking, lots of people around us all through the day at certain points were visibly upset. It was a beautiful yet very hard moment, but being part of it and showing Dave we had his back until he was ready was very special. I'm so glad the family and band allowed us to have and share this day. RIP Taylor x

Not since the summer of 85 during Live Aid in that same spot where a band and a lead singer has stole the show and gave us a musical performance of a lifetime..Freddie Mercury and Queen gave a 20 min musical masterpiece on that same stage. With millions watching..and many other huge music singers and bands performed. One stood out. Freddie made sure of that. Last night I got that same feeling I got as when I watched it back in 85. Dam music is beautiful and can change your life. It gives u hope. Gets u thru to the next day. So many things. But one thing is for sure. When u see a great performance..ull never forget it.

I saw foo fighters back in the day and it’s still one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in concert. They sounded better than their albums, there was comedy, they literally put on a jaw dropping show. I’ll never forget how loud the crowd was after the encore and it was over, shit literally hurt my ears. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and that was the only time that ever happened. Great band who immortalized their selves with great music.
