Just finished a 4 year flyfishing dry-spell. Went on fishing throughout the period all the less.. When it ended I caught the two biggest trouts so far within a month.. A great way to test patience and if you’re able to laugh about instead of stressing it becomes a skill.. Fed film Frederik🐰🖖🏻

Make a loop with your index finger and thumb on your left hand as you let the fly line go, and let the line run through that loop. It will significantly reduce the amount of times the line tangles in the guides. I promise. Also, drop the Flexi stripper and get a line basket, preferably Baskette, when fishing on the coast. That will also reduce tangles and frustration. The Flexi stripper is nice when you are fishing small streams and rivers, but on the coast a line basket is superior. If you are using a shooting head, try the Vision ultra light nymph as shooting line. It tangles way less than nylon lines. You seem like an experienced fly fisherman, but also a bit frustrated. These tips will help. I promise. Looking forward to more episodes. Keep it up. 🤙

Same here ! I am currently on my 15th fishing trip without a fish in the net. I must have lost about 8 or 9 fish on these trips - they just won’t stay on !! My remedy (which obviously doesn’t work) is to buy more gear. 😎😂

I spent 2 years without catching a single trout. I was fishing nearly every single night after work or days when I was off. During the spawn I would go to the river and just watch them. In my third year, near the end of the season.... A fishless season so far, I had just given up. The night I decided I was quitting was the night I caught my first trout. I asked a friend why he thought it had taken so long, his reply ' You're no longer trying to catch fish, now you're just fishing'. I've never looked back 😀
