French Burlesque

The show is heavily inspired by Dada an absurdist art movement. The show essentially satirizes the conventions of color guard: utilizing equipment in unconventional ways like when they use the rifles as legs of a table and also put the shoes on the rifles continuing the motif of the rifles as legs, the tarp that is never unfolded and used as a prop, the baton soloist that never does a toss, the flags that are used as clotheslines, and of course the mockery of gender conventions.

it was genuinely about just being as bizarre they can be, years before they were told that they did the same thing every year, so they attempted to stray as far away from that as possible
