I do find it funny that basically everything CGB played was immediately removed (Sol Ring, Ozolith, Esper Sentinel), but everyone let Olivia sit back and make a giant army basically unopposed. Even Rachel's boardwipe hurt CGB the most lol.

That's the blue life. Blue gets hated the most because people know the things blue can make if it gets unchecked for a single turn (it doesn't even need to have other than lands on the field to suddenly steal the game with an instant infinite combo).

The first time, during his combat step, yes. The 2nd time during his end step in response to Olivia's Rin and Seri activation, which eliminated Rachel, was after AW had resolved, and before the turn ended. Huge mistake

Akroma’s will is until the end of turn. It was cast in Jimmy’s turn and at 38:45 Jimmy had already passed to Olivia. All of the death was after AW had worn off.

Actually no. Olivia clearly states her action begins during Jimmy's end step. Which means that that entire sequence, other than targeting CGB's Phantasmal Image, is illegal. That's such a huge mistake this whole game is pretty much just garbage. I mean. It's not like missing a trigger. You repeatedly targeted illegal targets, which eliminated a player from the game.....

@@beerman2000 oh yeah that is a massive misplay then. I’m surprised that Rachel didn’t pick up on this. Knowing that my creatures have protection, I will always be quick to say they can’t be targeted. My bad on the original post.

@@beerman2000it is actually in Jimmy's 2nd main he wanted to move to his end step but Olivia reacts to that, but yes targetting Rachel's creatures was illegal at that point. You cannot actually just do something in an end step, you need a trigger which goes onto the stack to be able to react to it.

didnt he do the yawmoth on the stack? Wouldnt that mean they still would die due to the effect not resolving yet. IDK for sure but Oliva is a rules person so they would have caught it if Jimmy was wrong

I've had Denry Klin as my main commander deck for a while now, and am absolutely stoked to see it get some attention! CGB did a good job by loading the deck with clone cards, as they can clone Denry himself in addition to whatever else is on the battlefield, but unfortunately he (and everyone else) missed the most crucial part of Denry's ETB trigger, which is that *Denry himself triggers the ability when he enters the battlefield.* So if he enters with a +1/+1 counter from his first ability, after he enters he will trigger himself, and since he has a +1/+1 counter, he immediately doubles that to two +1/+1 counters. And it only gets crazier from here. Because of this interaction, cloning Denry will result a clone having more than double the counters Denry had, even if that clone is still a legendary copy of Denry. If you have a Denry on the battlefield with the two +1/+1 counters he usually has, and then play, say, a Glasspool Mimic, which enters as a copy of Denry, here's what happens. 1. "Commander" Denry and "Glasspool" Denry both trigger upon seeing Glasspool Denry enter the battlefield. Order the triggers so that Commander Denry's resolves first. 2. One of the Denries must be sacrificed immediately due to the legend rule. You should always choose Commander Denry to be sacrificed here, instead putting him back in the command zone. 3. Commander Denry's trigger resolves. Commander Denry isn't on the battlefield anymore, so to determine how many counters he applies to Glasspool Denry, the game uses his "Last known information" (Rule 608.2g). Since Denry had two +1/+1 counters on him, this will apply two +1/+1 counters to Glasspool Denry. 4. Glasspool Denry's trigger resolves. It now has three +1/+1 counters, so it puts three more on itself, for a total of six. 5. If six +1/+1 counters isn't enough, you can later repeat this process in reverse by recasting Denry from the command zone. If you have the previous clone with six +1/+1 counters, and Commander Denry enters with another +1/+1 counter, the newly-resummoned Commander Denry will have fourteen +1/+1 counters after all triggers resolve. And this is what Denry can do with just *one* clone card.

Misplays happen but it's so hard to see one that kills a player and critically changes the outcome. All I can imagine is yall noticed that at the end of the turn but just decided to go with it instead of rewinding all that cats draw and triggers.

I’m reminded of one of my first commander decks, I built it for my brother cause he wanted to play but didn’t have a deck. It was a derevi deck, no stacks, but he was leading a cat tribal deck and we always found that funny and thematically it was a bunch of cats chasing a bird into battle

Man such a fun game! My day always gets brighter when I get to watch one of y'alls videos. BTW, I don't know if I missed something but I believe CGB's Vraan he made from Jimmy using Undercover Operative wouldn't have entered with a shield counter as CGB didn't control Vraan upon resolution.

So more as a question to make sure, but the Akroma’s Will gave Rachel’s creatures protection from all colors until the end of turn. With that in mind, shouldn’t Jimmy not be able to target her creatures with Yawgmoth because it was it was on an end step (thus sparing Rachel)? Or is that not how protection works?

Great video, but there was three misplays during this game that could of changed the outcome of the game: 1. Covert shouldn't have gotten the shield counter with his Undercover Operative because it wasn't a creature he controlled 2. Rachel should have gained 5 life with the lifelink she got from Akroma's Will with the remaining blockers she had blocking Jimmy's creatures (she would have survived Jimmy's turn) 3. When Jimmy did Yawgmoth's activated ability, he couldn't target Rachel's creatures because they still had protection from all colors

@@petermaximoff4598definitely does . He only chose to really eliminate Rachel later in the turn after what was presumably a back and forth between her and Olivia. If he’d wanted to kill her all a long then he would done it during combat in response. Was clearly a later decision and by then it was too late.

During Jimmy's end step, Rachel's creatures still had protection from all colors granted by her Akroma's Will cast during Jimmy's combat, so he shouldn't have been allowed to target her creatures with Yawgmoth's ability, and hence he couldn't have killed her since Yawg would have died from Rin&Seri's activated ability...

Oh and he also could have pinged Olivia's dogs to have her have only 3 dogs left by the time R&S's ability resolves, keep his Yawg and have in the end a more balanced board state and life totals overall. Ugh.

I did not love the fact that he kept giving blockers to the player furthest in the lead. Unimpressed with his gameplay decisions.

Unless I got it wrong, most of Jimmy's Yawgmoth's activations after combat step should not have worked, because Rachel's Akroma's Will had already resolved and therefore all of her creatures had protection from all colours including black making them illegal targets for Yawgmoth. Which would have made a major difference in the game.
