fell in love with this song in 1989 being played by a DJ who became a friend of mine at KSPC in Claremont California

Probably the best song to explain heroin effects ( a guy who was a teenager during the 80s, and yes...)

Lyrics: Happy nightmare, baby Happy nightmare, baby Cause you're mine, all mine We're gonna go for a ride Gonna go for a ride Down in the city tonight Gonna be my baby Will you be my baby? Tonight, tonight Our love is gone Our love is gone Into the night, into the night Close your eyes, come along with me Down into the bottom of the sea Happy nightmare, baby Happy nightmare, baby Cause you're mine, all mine Gonna be my baby Will you be my baby? Tonight, tonight

Opal and Mazzy refined and cleaned the original sound of Velvet Underground instead in Europe, Jesus and Mary Chain made it more dirthy with feedback

+yallow rosa And spacemen 3 took the banana vinyl with them as they traveled to the otherside. Their records are the only remaining material from the expedition (the proof as well)

"Opal and Mazzy refined and cleaned the original sound of Velvet Underground" - not quite, the Velvets were a bit ahead both lyrically and musically. And I say that as a fan of all bands. :)

I have never heard her dad was the guy in Can, is that true or are you kidding? That would be insanely cool, but I doubt it's real! LoL

Bono Vox= Beautiful Voice. Love Kendra Smith! Love in the gloomy heavy darkest split open night. Shadows dance inside. Love is gone into the night. Well portrayed into this girls heart.

I always thought Mazzy Star was a pale simulacrum of Opal. That is probably fighting words to some. But I kind of think I’m right.

funny - I put 'qualifier' inside angular brackets below and it kept saying 'error, try again' - so angular brackets are not allowed in youtube posts? wonder why...

great song - I *think* I heard the album at someone's pad c. 1988-89 but was always too stoned *then* to be sure now... [there is no such thing as 'too stoned' without a qualifier, but I have a qualifier phrase there... 'too stoned to ...qualifier...' ]

I've got the cassette. The title track is very different than everything else, which is a lot noisier. A lot of heavy psychedelic-bluesy guitars.

@@moblackledgeobjectively worse... there's a reason why Mazzy Starr "Fade into you" has been in 30 movies and was one of the biggest indie songs of the decade... congratulations on proving your indie cred🥇
