I hate fake locks, but I love fake tricks!
@Sertao20132 жыл бұрын
Its the old hole in the top trick. Notice how he holds the lock in the exact same spot without moving it at all once he starts to touch the magnets . This is because he cut a hole in the flexible top ,you can see the top is not solid. He is trying to hard to not move the lock to expose the hole he made where the key is going into the lock . He only tilts it slightly but never shows the bottom or never moves the lock from its spot .
@CHNeves2 жыл бұрын
@Ricky Barber At 1:31 he gets careless and the latch moves into place very subtly, even with the magnets still stuck to the padlock. Fake
@RKLS902 жыл бұрын
@@Sertao2013 there are other videos doing this same trick & it 100% DOES WORK. Their is a Short’s video on the Tooltips channel & he does it too. He has the lock flat against the palm of his hand & u can see there is nothing else that could possibly cause the lock to open besides the magnet.
@Sertao20132 жыл бұрын
@Ricky Barber Yes he shows the bottom of the lock two or three times buts after that he shows the magnets once the magnets are gone the video is edited and the lock is magically setting on the table at :40 seconds and its never moved again from that spot . While the video was off that's when the hole is placed in the counter top . Notice how the lock is never moved from at spot once you see it appear already setting on the table . Notice how you don't see him setting the lock on the table and notice how its never moved to the very end and its still not moved .

In case anyone believed it, this thing would be technically possible if only the upper pins detached perfectly from the lower ones, leaving the shear line free.
@harrickvharrick39572 жыл бұрын
Yeah but even so the lock would not open if the cylinder wouldn't rotate. And the upper pins would have to be magnetic, which would mean they'd have to be made out of iron but not steel, and also it would mean that the inside pins would have to NOT be magnetic cause otherwise they simply would stick to the other halves magnetically and travel with them. Even with iron pins it would still not be possible in the real would to exert enough force onto those tiny thingies to travel against the force of the springs that would normally sit in a lock above the pins. Absolutely totally impossible. It would not even be possible if you could hold the magnet straight up to them, let alone from a distance and right through the lock body with the springs in fact actually sitting inbetween. But the fraud we see here doesn't move the actual cylinder, he has the latch moving independently from the cylinder. In a normal lock, the latch would be equally spring-loaded and would have to be replaced by something made out of iron. Now as the latch is a bigger part that half a pin, it may be possible to move it if it were replaced by an iron part, possibly it may even be possible against the force of a very week spring. That's if it even was a real trick on a doctored lock. Bit what he actually does is move the latch with this finger on the backside that we don't get to see, and he is careless, as someone else has pointed out: at 1:31 the latch already moves magically before the magnet even comes anywhere near the lock.
@zenkipac2 жыл бұрын
It actually looks like the latch holding the shackle moved, so I don’t think he was attacking the pins.
@davidweekley34382 жыл бұрын
Just going to add onto what Harrick said, even if someone did try and turn it, and the magnet was strong enough to pull even the top pins down the springs will jam that lock so fast. Iv never seen a magnet compress springs without a load on top of it

True indeed that's why he hides the hole on the table in order to hide the key inserted as he puts the magnets. He won't lift the lock as you can see. Nice trick. Also nice nails manicure needed again!

When I was about 9 or 10yo my 3yrs older brother showed me how to pick the padlock on our old garage so we could go in and look at the old car. All that was needed was one of Mom's bobby pins bent like a T,stick it in the lock and wiggle. We always locked it up again and were careful not to do any damage. Now it's 50 years later and a fond and funny memory.

@HILUXCHAINSAW5 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter what the body is made of as the magnet is pulling the locking pin out of the shackle gate. You can see this at 01.27. The pin locates in the gate in the shackle. The shackle on this lock shows 2 gates but the locking pin only actually works on one side. If it had locking pins for both gates this method would not work.
@whatsup72025 жыл бұрын
@@HILUXCHAINSAW Nope, if that were true than a simple high-grade magnet would pull the pin, and so no need to ram the remaining magnets together.
