Very creative! I don't remember you specifying this, but if anyone is going to try this project, don't bake acrylic "crystals", you'll regret it. Only put real glass crystals in the oven.
@heathernwells

Thank you for the clarification. I buy Swarovski, so I forget about typical rhinestones.
@janedoe6181
@janedoe6181 7 жыл бұрын
Heather Wells I only buy Swarovski too. 😊 Not just because I can put them in the oven, but I think they look the best and age well. Cheaper crystals can get scratched and turn cloudy very easily. But, I have heard enough horror stories about ruined projects that it's now ingrained in my brain to remind people to make sure they use a brand of crystals that are glass. You did say in the video that you were using Swarovski's, but I think people that don't have much, or any, experience with crystals think a crystal is a crystal.

I could not for the life of me get those stupid lines drawn on there correctly. SO what I did was i used nail art striping tape.. then drew my lines to the right of each one on the edge of the tape .. perfection Now to put some clay on it... thanks for the tutorial I would have never tried it without it!

Please help me I have bought two clay extrudes the sculpey and the walunut one please both don't work what one do use please help
@Boredchinchilla
@Boredchinchilla 7 жыл бұрын
Savannah Grosberg how doesn't it work? Is it too hard to get the clay through? Those small metal extruders (about the size of a hotdog) with the little discs that have different holes in them take a HUGE amount of strength to extrude the clay; I find they work much better when you fasten the extruder into a caulking gun (one with the trigger that you put a cardboard tube of caulk or silicone in. they are relatively cheap in hardware stores, and often free on Freecycle.org- that's a site where you ask people near you for or they offer items that are still useable but they don't want anymore-everything is free). You can use Gorilla glue or liquid nails/silicone to secure the extruded inside the caulking gun so that the plunger of the extruder is attached to to circular "pusher" part of the caulking gun. This way you can push the extruder in with much less strength by using the trigger of the caulking gun (if you use silicone you can remove the extruder with a bit of work, but if you use gorilla glue or liquid nails it is pretty much permanent). You still need to condition the clay well before using it in any extruder (make sure it's soft and warm)-Fimo is tough to put though the extruder even after conditioning it and using the caulking just because it is so firm.

How many times can you bake clay before it starts to burn it or make it brittle?
@heathernwells
@heathernwells Жыл бұрын
At least four. I just wouldn’t do long sessions in the oven. Some of my pieces baked four times for some components
