you need to prey the screen surrounding off and you will be able to see the webcam there. you can then unplug it. on the motherboard it is bundle into the LCD cable

@@chandelima sorry no video on removing the display. if you are asking about removing the display then i recommend you not to do it. you can go to dell website and get the user manual it shows you how to remove the screen

in the video it shows you how to remove the keyboard unless you got a different laptop

open up your laptop, replace the thermal paste and clean it out. do that first then come back to me if you still have issues. you can follow the steps in the video which will show you how to do that

you need to remove everything to repaste it. this guide is only for this laptop or a laptop that look like it. if your laptop looks different go watch my other videos and try to find it. overall by default you need to remove everything before you can repaste it.

@@Yassou1985 the fan automatically turns on when it is hot. if thats not happening as you like there is nothing you can do about it. you can make the fan turn on by download 3rd party software which i have used before. i recommend you to open it up clean the fan and replace the thermal paste

use a light in a dark room and shine it on your LCD screen if you can see your desktop that means your LCD back light is dead besides that you need to tell me why you disassemble your laptop because you want to replace something or just for fun?

OPEN ME UP Hi, I took it apart to repair the right side hinge. Earlier today I was able to see the desktop and use the touchscreen (very faintly). I just tried to boot again and am getting 8 beeps - lcd failure. Anything I can do? Thanks

you might have stuff up. when you replace the hinge you might have place the LCD cable it a bad position and damage it or you could have pulled on it. you might need to replace your LCD cable or just plug it back it again to see if it works. try that first if that doesnt work you might have a big issue as your screen is working but the back light is not so could be that it is faulty therefore you might need to replace the screen itself or LCD control board really hard to tell what your issue is. so your first step now it to remove your back cover in the video at 12.00 and turn on your laptop like that to test if the screen works. you can move the cable around while it is on to see if it works.

OPEN ME UP disassembled it again and powered it up.. the lcd works now and there is colour.. but it's dim and brightness adjustment doesn't do much. Is it possible to fully remove the screen, leave the lcd cable unplugged, and bypass POST to allow me to just project using HDMI to a monitor?

no but if you want you can test it. there is no difference in removing the cable from the LCD side or the motherboard side as the motherboard needs a response. so if there is nothing on any end of the cable then there cant be a response saying LCD screen is here. thats why you get 8 beeps

How do you get that off safely? And i have found my problem. My antenna wires for the wireless card have come out of the snap pieces because of one of my hinges came off. Is it possible to push the wires back into the snap pieces or will I have to buy new antenna wires?

you can but if it doesn't work or you get crappy reception then you have to replace them

you need to reconnect the wifi cable or else you wont get wifi. the beeping sound means you stuffed up somewhere. tell me how much beeps it is and i will tell you what you forgot. example if it beep 7 times then it means no screen attach, this would mean you forgot to plug in the LCD cable. It also beeps if you did put the ram back in or you put it in wrongly

@@OpenMeUpTec Thanks for the follow up. I originally used only a Phillips head screwdriver to gently disconnect the Wi-Fi. However, I am having issues with reconnecting manually. It's like putting a thread inside of a needle. What tool should I use that will assist me to plug in they Wi-Fi cable back into the connector? Also, When I turn my computer on, it beeps 8 times and then it stops for about 3 seconds and then it beeps again 8 times. Can this still be in LCD connecting issue?

@@chrisnaden the wireless cable should go in easier without much effort and no tools required. if you still having issue remove the wireless card therefore it is easier to plug in the cables. this way you can practice and see what is going on

@@OpenMeUpTec Thanks for the update. My issue is that during removal, I accidentally removed the wires from the connector that is suppose to connect to the card. I may have to just solder it or do something like what is here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9R-draduprFZmg.html. Do you think it would be a better idea to just get a new wirless antenna for the Inspiron 5448? The guy's method on this video seems too time consuming.

That's bad. It means CPU is faulty which is basically the worst thing and can't do anything

It has a continuous 8 beeps sound which in the DELL community said that indicates an LCD Failure. Also when connected to an external monitor, the laptop works absolutely fine.

Manya Mohan I apologize just went to check the error code list again. I made a mistake 7 beeps means your CPU is dead. You can try to open it up like in the video and see if the LCD cable is loose but I doubt it.

i don't know how much laptop are worth in the US. Here in Australia the normal pay rate is $20 an hour so this laptop is worth 12.5 hours of worth and i would buy it for that price if it is an i7 or i5

its is actually how dell named the laptop. if you look up the service tag for this laptop it says Dell Inspiron 15 ( 5548 ) 5000 Series which I used from them

@@Statalyzer thanks for your support there is more than 2 laptops in the same series. there is 3000, 5000 and 7000, the higher the serial the more expensive the laptop is and more premium

i originally did it but found out it was pointless as people who are watching the video skip that part or are too scared to remove the LCD. also if you are watching this video to remove the LCD then i recommend you not to do it. therefore all my video are aim to go to the motherboard only

@@OpenMeUpTec I've gotta replace LCD hinges on one... wanted to get a heads up before I opened it... but I did see that the LCD hinge screws are the last thing to come off before removing the LCD assembly. Non the less your video was helpful so... Belay my last and thank you sir.

Sorry, I was saying that I bought a similiar notebook a while ago and the display died after 15 months. Also the case broke, just at the right side where the monitor support is. I had a bad time and a waist of my precious money by buying out this notebook. I don`t recomend it. The comment above has the video that i did about my issue, but I'm speaking portuguese!
