“Everything I do is sick at the end of the day,” says Black Kray, explaining the evolution of his aka Sickboyrari. “I be switchin’ lanes. I be in mad different lanes with this sh*t.” The Goth Money Records founder was born in Richmond, VA and moved to Ashland, VA at a young age. “Goth kids cliqued up, we were outsiders-you feel me?" he says of his own come up. Heavily into skating since 2006 and listening to different music than most other kids in town, Black Kray faced plenty of resistance from his peers. “Callin’ us weird, white boys-all that sh*t,” he recalls. Undeterred, he built up his own has music wave via Bandcamp, becoming a profoundly influential artist to the current wave of hip hop. “Cool people recognize cool sh*t at the end of the day,” he says.
