*7,62-43* *1120/bxn/90* The ammo information is on the tin. "7,62-43" means 7.62x39mm M43 Soviet ammo. "1120" means the number of rounds per crate. "bxn" is the German WW2 / Soviet Warsaw Pact arsenal code for the Zbrojovka Vlasim (nationalized Sellier & Bellot) ammunition plant in Vlasim, Bohemia, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). "90" means the ammo was made in 1990. The ammo comes in 10-round stripper clips packed 2 clips (20 rounds) per unmarked light-blue carton; there are 56 cartons (112 stripper clips) per crate.

Sellier & Bellot is probably the world's oldest ammunition maker, dating to 1825 when a German-French businessman, whose family fled the French Revolution, established a percussion cap factory in Prague on behalf of Emperor Francis I of Austria.

Two tabs are for opening the x and the y axis, the third tab is for lifting the ammo out of the crate, hope that helps for future crates. Good ammo, I have a couple crates myself, shoots good, and is clean. Mine was 80's production so you mileage may very.... Just remembered I had a crate where there was z axis, dump box out of wooden crate then pull x tab open, then y tab open then z tab open and ammo falls out.

I've had both loose and strippered (something about this word doesn't sound right) ammo in identical looking crates, even same numbers etc. Not always clear if the smmo is loose or not. Must be a marking im not catching, i purchase through a local gun shop. I once got ammo on little machine gun clips for a m42 machine gun. I shoot 8mm mauser. Same with identifying corrosive or non corrosive. I can't tell...I just ask for noncorrosive.

The stripper clips of ten rounds probably indicates the intended firearm was the SKS, which took a ten-round stripper clip. But there is probably some reloading device that allows reloading of Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle magazines with three, separate stripper clips.
@milesmccollough5507 Жыл бұрын
there is, in fact, a cast metal tray that AKM-equipped militaries use to speed-load AK mags in this fashion. it's got a pocket for the mag, a slot for a loaded stripper clip, and a big basin to hold a pile of loose rounds close. you insert the stripper clip into a specific place lined up with the mag, take a loading block, and then ram it straight in.
@MrAla6 Жыл бұрын
No device needed. This is Czech ammo packed to load Czech rifle Samopal vz.58. This rifle have stripper clip cut out in in bolt so you put empty magazine in rifle, open bolt (locks on empty mag), push down 3 clips, replace magazine with another empty one and repeat until you load all mags. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n6mheM96qbvelX0.html

Take a piece of dowel rod, slip through ring and pull straight up and across, then put it through both the side ones and pull from the middle to open them at the same time, these are made to be opened in a hurry if needed, so there is a trick to it, so as not to waste time.

Soviet 7.62x39mm ammo doesn't come that way. The ammo on stripper clips is usually for use in SKS carbines - which have a 10-round internal magazine. 7.62x54mmR M1891 Russian ammo comes in 5-round clips.
