Opening Solo from the DC live stream May 21st 2022

I've had quite a few requests from viewers to repost the full opening solo from the live stream on Drum Channel from last May. It took me forever to find the file but I just stumbled upon it so here it is! Last June I posted the lesson breaking down the flam-part of the solo (melodic tom pattern along with the stack accents) but never the full performance in context. I just wrote the accompanying groove and melodic theme earlier that morning so it's just a rough Midi-track but it was enough to convey the idea and melodic concept of the melodic flam-combination pattern. Anyway, hope you guys (you know who) find this helpful and can work with it!

Lang's drumsticks are like bowling pins, and he just flies around the kit like he's using 7A's. Brilliant sense of dynamics, taste, and his vids inspire me to practice every time I see a clip of him drumming. Such an amazing musician.

Well every new video has TL taking things to a new level. I have been stuck for the last year not being able to get new things in my head to my limbs. For TL I think the new idea/into the limb thing is automatic. Can you imagine being able to play this way? Wow.

That is some amazingly smooth and complex rhythm Thomas Lang! And the tones on those drums are incredible too! I don't know who you were talking to, but I will be working on that tune for a good long time before I could feel confident with it. But that doesn't mean that I'm not going to really trying my best.
