Kathy is his wife. She was still for the entire video except for some twitches on Geoff's low notes. She has a huge part in wrangling Geoff and VoicePlay. Her performing career was cut short by hearing loss. There is a video on it on Geoff's channel. She also features in VoicePlay's Golden Hour video

Kathy, Geoff's wife, is in Golden Hour. HIGHLY recommend it. She plays a woman "creating" her ideal man and they use a very humorous approach. OH, by the way, you do know those other singers are all Geoff too, right? He's doing all the parts.

I loved this the first time I heard it. Geoff was so creative in this version. Each of the dance moves were based on the old monsters from the movies, first Frankenstein's monster with the outstretched arms, then the Wolfman with the claw swipes, the Dracula with the classic cape moves, and finally the Mummy wrapped tightly and writhing. Yes, that was Kathy, his wife, and she was definitely there the entire time.

This is the second time they filmed the video. The first time he didn’t like it so they went back and filmed the very next day for a second time. This is always a song that brings back childhood memories of Halloween. I think one of my favorite parts is Wolfman discovering that his hips actually can move. When you go back and listen again, did you notice that the beginning they are singing a loose variation of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue? Then the organ(?) comes in and it always reminds me of Norman Greenspan’s Spirit in the Sky. I don’t know if that’s intentional or not but I think it’s hilarious. And at the end there’s a really discordant Fur Elise. Yes, Kathy was there the whole time. A few times when he hits a really low tone, she twitches! You can also see her in their cover of Golden Hour. Geoff’s speaking voice is perfect for this. If you haven’t checked out his narrations on his channel you should. Unfortunately some of them are a little too scary for me so I can’t listen to them when I’m trying to go to sleep. I’m pretty much listening to Night before Christmas and the Cremation of Sam McGee if listening at night😂 And finally😂: they should both be pretty good at playing monsters. For over 10 years the two of them were in the Beetlejuice Rock n Roll Graveyard Revue at Universal Studios. Geoff played the Frankenstein monster and Kathy was his bride. Very appropriately cast!. Some of the clips that are out there show Tony Wakim who had been their baritone as Count Dracula. You might give it a look. I’ve watched a lot of them and it’s really fun to see them from a prior time.

This was the first music that I heard on KZfaq. I was watching news and gardening and up popped The Monster Mash (one of my favorites from my childhood). I went there, fell in love with Geoff's singing and went hunting more. Found VoicePlay and have never looked back. I always listen to them first, then go on to my reactors so I get to watch how amazing that Geoff and VoicePlay are. So I'm very glad to see you and I so enjoyed watching and listening to your reaction! It is great. Good to see Kathy, Geoff's wife - she is also the production manager for both Geoff and VoicePlay. I do listen to other groups, The Bass Gang, Home Free, Pentatonix, Voctave, Dan Vasc, others original songs from my life that I love. That's more of a monthly drop by whereas VoicePlay and Geoff are daily doses. When I found them almost 3 yrs ago, they had a list of 800 videos and I watched them all. I can't find that list again. Occasionally an oldie but goodie pops up that I hadn't heard so that's cool. Grow Old With Me was one of those and I just love it.

Geoff arranged a do-wop piece for VP as well "Sh-Boom (Life Could Be A Dream)" another one of their overlooked videos. I really enjoy your reaction/analysis thank you. When Geoff recorded Shenandoah, the piano we see in the video was totally out of tune. Luckily it's not the one we hear. But poor Geoff had to sit through the recording, playing that piano and not reveal by any expression how HE percieved it. He demonstrated its sound in the BTS, thats how we know.

You were impressed by the set. This was shot at Pattycake Productions, owned by Layne Stine and Tony Wakim. (Tony was a member of VP until about 2015, you can see him in there earliest videos-particularly Phantom of the Opera). Geoff naturally shoots a lot of his videos there and they have their own original songs. They have something special planned for Halloween I think you might like….

Bobby "Boris" Pickett & the Crypt-Kickers had hits with this in 1962 and 1973 (it's hard to believe it debuted more than 60 years ago!). Geoff Castellucci has once again brought it back to life ("It's alive"!!). This is such a fun video & he's so talented & creative. His lovely wife was so sweet to appear & (for the most part) play statue!

He also does readings of stories that is so good as well. Example of one is the raven and its so good to hear his inflection of the story makes it so imnersvive.

I believe this was the first Geoff solo video that his amazing wife Kathy appeared in. And yep, she's there the whole time. I think maybe two out of the twenty or more reactions to it I watched maybe two noticed Kathy at the beginning. I certainly didn't. But you'll see more of her. It's always a treat to see her! 💙

I went to a smaller college, but one with a good music department. The practice rooms were tiny, but the music building had been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was built on a hill in East Tennessee, and each practice room and studio were on a slightly different level. Each tiny practice room had a window that opened for fresh air - but although the windows were about 5 feet high, they were only 4 inches wide. The really bad places to practice, though, were the organ practice rooms. They were below in the ‘catacombs’, where it was dimly lit and like Halloween 24 hours a day. I never got used to going down there.

Kathy has been a cameo in several of Geoff and Voiceplay videos. Geoff in "Till Then". "Blue Christmas". Voiceplay in "Golden Hour".

Geoff is the king of Halloween. He's always providing special treats for us during October. And everything about this one is so fun.

Geoff has said “Did you pick up on the "la la la" section? It's Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor, just shuffled and swung”. At the end, there is a hint of Fur Elise. Geoff's wife Kathy play a huge part in both his and VP's videos. They wouldn't work without her input. In Geoff's Shenandoah he found a piano that looked how he wanted, but when they come to film it was half a tone out from the track he'd laid down at home. He suffered trying to listen to both at once but you wouldn't know. Such a pro.

Not only was this a very good reaction to a terrific cover of this song, today your studio wasn't oppressively monochromatic. LOL

Check out Geoff's cover of Elvis' "Way Down". It was a homage to JD Sumner. He said it took him 80 tries to hit the low note, and it's the first time he names his clones with all the misspellings of his name (in Ghost Riders he adds Daryl). 😁

Great reaction! You would have seen Kathy more if you would watch videos to the end and see some of the behind the scenes. You watched Jack's Lament - she was the puppeteer of the dog and you see that in the behind the scenes at the end. Others have mentioned all the other great things she has done - and there is a video somewhere of her and Geoff singing before she started loosing her hearing. Adorable couple..

Sorry I couldn’t be spooked. I had to laugh too much! The "Wolfman" is fantastic. As all the other Geoffs of course. I agree, the movements are clearly not human. so much fun. i am of an age as to have spent many an hour stomping to bobby pickett's version of the monster mash. my remembrance is that it was more as a recitation with back up singing' whereas geoff's is more song. the presence of the three additional monsters and their antics is just perfect. in my old age i can enjoy, dare i say, a more sophisticated version. so chill. just found your channel with your dan vasc reaction. will be keeping an eye on you now. ty

Great reaction; and yes, it is difficult to analyse a piece with which one is so "in tune". This was a childhood favorite. All 6 of us kids enjoyed this song so much that when October came around we would drive our parents crazy by "performing" the song. I think that for the dance it was filmed at normal pace and had a different playback speed which gives the jerkiness. The BTS for this has more about it
