Every time we listen to ren, it feels like I have changed by the end of the song. I dont know If I heave ever experienced a more visceral artist in my life outside of Opera. I honestly feel like a different person who has learned something or had a new experience to add to my own by the end of ALL of his videos. This one is no different, lets watch it together, shall we?

He is playing that, yes. The whole thing is a live performance, including the second pianist and strings, with one cut - as the camera moves behind the wheelchair after Ren collapses into it. He's a pretty talented lad. Samuel is Samuel Perry-Falvey, Ren's friend who has filmed most of Ren's one-shot videos. Also very talented.

"The whole thing is a live performance, including the second pianist and strings, with one cut - as the camera moves behind the wheelchair after Ren collapses into it. " You can very very clearly hear plosives in his voice yet there is no mic to be seen, so sure it's probably the audio from alive performance (it's way to bad for a studio recording) but the video was recorded separately.

Here's my take; along with factual statements made by Ren & others, on the messaging & performative aspects of Money Game Parts 1,2 & 3. Hope this helps you in absorbing the overall message Ren is portraying.✌❤ Part 1: is in the similar format of Ren's Jenny & Screen Tale trilogy & Hi Ren, which can be considered live performance pieces that are shot in 1 take.🤯 Ren has commented that this was his first attempt at this style of video production & it took them over 140 takes to get the shot right with the choreography & music to flow seamlessly. In essence, Ren is introducing everyone to the hypocrisy in the west & the seeds that have been sown around the world that created this money game & how we all live blind to it with a metaphorical money bag tied around our heads. 💰🤑💰 Part 2: is a studio recording with Ren & his videographer Samuel Perry-Falvey creating an artistic lyric video to assist in the messaging/storytelling. Pt.2 shows the money game through a narrower lens of corporate greed & government corruption & its effects on our present day society.🔥🔥 Part 3: Is Ren's magnum opus, once again returning to his one shot live performance format with Samuel Perry-Falvey behind the lens, but this time on a grander scale then anything they've attempted to date. Ren has even stated that this video in scale & technicality was his most ambitious project yet. Ren wraps up this trilogy telling us the life story of a single fictional character named "Jimmy" who was raised from birth in this money game mentality & therefore tightening the focus even more on this MG . Instead of just singing the hook "Point the mirror at ourselves, we're all part of this old money game" he chooses to show us through Jimmy's life & everyone around him who have their own money bags tied around there heads. 🤯🤯 Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber shared Money Game 3 on his Instagram and said Ren is one of the best storytellers he has seen in a very long time. Film maker Jonathan Hiller was blown away by the story, as well as the cinematography & choreography. By the end of the video Jonathan say's " this is the genius of Ren, by the end of the video his art transcended into a spiritual realm. Ren's use of negative space is captivating & MG3 was utterly transformative".

And yet, I don't care. The thing that made him stand out was the emotional outbursts, the apparent honesty about the pain and yes, musically he was good. Not something you'd actually listen to as music, but done very well. This is just more ranting and preaching and look at me being profound and deep and I just don't care. Either tell a story or make a song, don't do this where you talk/rap/thing with a video that is supposed to be... well nobody knows what it's supposed to be, not even himself. People keep saying that he's a genius and then explaining why others have to see him as a genius too. He's not a genius, he just does things that are different and the his first song was new and made an impression and now people have decided that everything he does *must* be profound aswel... For some reason we're not allowed to like the first song and dislike the second for being a carbon copy of the first. I didn't like the first song much either, but I will gladly say that he did it well, it made a statement, it was sung well, spoken well, the lyrics were impressive. This... is not.

@@vinny142 🤣For someone who doesn't care, you've got way too much to say. Troll much lately bud? 🙄Here's a little free advice, life is way too short, so instead of wasting your precious time listening/watching an artist you don't appreciate; only to chime in on a comment that wasn't intended for you, just to complain about how his fans enjoy his work way too much. So in not so many words, please watch something else. After all buddy, who the F are you trying to convince, his fans? He's got over a million of them & growing, & you've got what? Other then perceived jealousy, bitterness & a narrow minded view of art & music. Please find your own enjoyment in music & art & leave us the F alone. Like I said life's too short, don't go to your grave acting like the live action version of the Grinch. In other words stop being so judgmental of what others enjoy. Find the things you love and put a smile on your face, you can start by staying away from Ren & the RENegades. At the very least, that would put a smile on ours.✌

It's definitely a lot to take in, and also definitely worth another watch. Ren packs a lot into that video. It's worth another watch again just to appreciate the production. It's absolutely amazing the way he laid that all out in a single space like. Keep in mind he put this together from the other side of the planet while receiving treatment in Canada, before flying home to film it. His drive and ambition is unmatched. As for starring in someone else's show - Ren is actually working on a series with Sam that he wants to pitch to Netflix - Ren wants to be a director. These videos are a way to pitch his larger project - he's building his resume. These are like his sketches on a napkin for a much bigger idea. It's crazy.

Perhaps the best way of thinking of this whole piece is to think of a blank piece of paper. Away from this piece of paper Ren starts formulating a concept, as the concept forms he starts thinking of the right composition to accompany the concept both in terms of lyrics and music. He then puts pen to paper and starts transcribing his thought processes and voila, three months later you have what is in effect , both a score and a script. It’s really quite some feat for one guy who then goes on to direct the filming of the performance, in between doing the actual performing.

You know, we make multiple takes trying to get through that whole thing. Without without an extra suit to change into is highly difficult. So to save from having to wait until the next day. The first time I heard Ren's Tale of Jenny and Screech months ago, I thought it'd be great for Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ren and Sam (his videographer) to collaborate on a Broadway or off-Broadway production or film. You're the first reactor I've heard mention that. Recently Andrew Lloyd Webber praised Ren's songwriting ability, and Ren was pretty happy about that. I think it's amazing that Ren can condense a person's whole life down to a nine-minute, bare-bones story and still make it compelling. Great reaction! 🤠

I personally am so drawn to him (and the Big Push, Chinchilla, etc.)....incredible artist who is genre bending, musical and lyrical genius. He makes us all go away and think about the deep stuff from time to time, although it isn't really that complicated. Intuitively we get the main thrust of what he says and with successive plays you might pick up extra little bits.

I'm not sure if you've heard the first 2 parts. If you have you'll appreciate the genius of that ending. The chorus from parts 1 and 2 is recreated, partly visually, without Ren singing it. The line before the chorus, in parts 1 and 2, "with his finger on the trigger of a money game" becomes the last line here. There's no chorus for Jimmy. Then you realise that the ending is not only a recreation of the chorus from parts 1 and 2, it's also a summation of Jimmy's life. This means that Jimmy's life is basically and expanded version of that chorus. Everything feeds into everything else. Genius! :)

One thing that is always missed is Ren making a case for women to play a larger role in a childs upbringing and against overbearing male toxicity. It’s a little insulting to say he should just be an actor in a musical. Andrew Loyd Webber said he was one of the greatest WRITERS of our generation. Sam who makes the video made this for 20k. He is not a performer. He is a writer and director not just a singer. All this came independently with Sam. He will produce, write, act on the biggest stages not this year but soon.

The Money Game Trilogy is a Modern Day Fable on the Evils of Greed. Ren stated "Mold will Grow upon the Surface and Consumes til it dies, and Our Fate could be the same without this Story to the Wise" The more I hear from Ren the more I realize his Solution is to be a Teacher Opening the Eyes of Millions with his Art and his Heart! And I think Ren's message is Crystal Clear. Ambition and Passion Without Compassion Will Cause the World To Burn! But Ambition and Passion WITH Compassion Can Save It! His Compassion is Manifestly Obvious and If enough of Us actually LISTEN to his words, then Maybe, Just Maybe the Hunan Race may Survive!

IMO this song is the extreme of certain consequence where a child is trying so hard to earn their fathers approval and each time their father disapproves of what they is doing 'jimmy' goes to more and more extreme lengths! I think the character assumes all his father wants is for him to earn money but since he is going about it in such devious way he never approves and when he dies that pushes him overboard but when he is shot, he is brought back to reality basically saying that chasing money your whole life is going to end in a terrible way no matter how you approach it.

Oh you reversed the video! A bit disorienting to see it that way, backwards.

Ugh, mirror mode video. Why! Why! Why? I hate it, really feeling like bailing on reactions that mess with the video! If you've not seen MG1 and MG2 likely you're a bit baffled by the context of things. But then you did do Violet's Tale before Jenny & Screech. 🤦‍♂ Well I find Opera hard to follow much more than this lyrical story, but I suppose it would help to have watched the first two videos, MG2 Lyric Video with its visuals makes it very clear. This video was released as the 'prize' to an online crowd source puzzle solving game that when solved a new video would play starting the next round of trying to solve the puzzle in it, the lesson of the game was revealed at the end for the 'winner' who had to travel to a location and make a choice. The penultimate video was 'Eden.' But there is a reactor who has a playlist of the entire game as played and each revealed video.

I have seen this video so many times, which is why your mirrored version really irritates and annoys me, especially because this measure is completely unnecessary.😉
