@Aellius88 tracer rounds are those glowing things you see. they have a substance in the tip of the bullet that glows as it fly's through the air. they are for soldiers to see where the bullets are going. very useful for night as well.

You have to admit though the echo and crackle of the round in the background when it's fired sounds pretty good for a game. they can sound different when theyre recorded for games. The other sounds like explosions and rockets whooshing past you sound amazing

@Forgoten151 No, that's right, arma 2 is not really a military simulator, It's a combat simulator. However, VBS 2 (which is also created by Bohemia Interactive) is a military simulator.

@rookiespartan Yes you do have to aim up but it depends on the distance of the enemy and the gun used.

@pkkthetiger I believe that's a strategic decision by the developers. The reason why games with huge maps such as Frontlines, Bad Company 2 and this one have unlimited sprint is so the game isn't slowed game dramatically. Keep in mind in previous installments of the series it took only one to two shots for enemies to kill you, so strategic players aren't going to be running around too much.

@7rapper678 You CAN run and gun but there's no need to. You can do like Sion Lenton; Stand in an open field with no cover and use the pistol as a sniper rifle shooting at a horde of enemies.

i got this game a couple of months back and it is the most realistic shooter game i have ever played. the sniper class is the best in my opinion it is such a good feeling to land an 800m headshot under the cover of darkness with a 50. cal barret with thermal scope.

This seems really impressive. Sort of like a friendlier version of Arma. Just like the old Flashpoint but done up a bit. Nice.

It says a lot when I made it about 3 levels in to the Blops campaign and lost interest but with Flashpoint I just finished the single player campaign and now I'm starting to go through it a second time! I Haven't done that since Doom 2 in 1994!

@jackxlewis buddy; simulation means one thing that mimics another, if it is a batlle simulator it is supossed to do just like it happens on a real batlle. Sure that tatics and all that stuff is important, but they don't pay attention to the details, what happens when u get shot? somebody, a medic, I don't know has to patch u up, but do it in a way that is fun to watch! that's what i'm talking about, they are so realistic in some areas and so stupid in other.

@Smooov516 If it is anything like Dragon Rising, there will be infiltration-like modes. This game is adding in new customizable loadouts, which usually signifies a mulltiplayer aspect...Either way you still didn't answer my question!

@Genstafa i don't think you can order your teammates in battlefield 3 and from the footage i have seen of battlefield 3 so far the story mode isn't as open as in this game, but the multiplayer in battlefield will be great

@LordTakahashi Red River is not a military simulator. If you want a combat sim you should play arma 2. Red River is just a tactical shooter that doesn't really require any tactics at all.

I've played Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis for a very long time, and I still play it today. Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising and this just did not meet the expectations they should of. If you want a spiritual realistic successor to OFPCWC or ARMA Cold War as it is now, play ARMA! ARMA3 is cominng out soon and it looks amazing!

The Steam Box is an upcoming console from Valve which is basically a compact PC with a supposedly affordable price similar to next gen consoles. Google it and keep yourself up to date about it because that might be your ticket for playing ArmA in the future
