He’s been offered the fight numerous times since the Opetaia Vs Thomson fight. Before and after the Zorro fight, and still says “no”. Then comes media and says this? You (the WBO) belt is what Jai wants. He has said it many times. Mate, call Jai out and fight him.

There was in fact very little talk about Opetaia after the Briedis fight - a war Opetaia lost the second half of, and which left him with injuries that kept him out of competition for months. Opetaia really has been hyped up on the basis of two KO victories over hopelessly overmatched opponents. He may be very good, but he's still being overrated.

I have great respect for Chris Billam Smith for biting down on his gum shield and getting through some tough fights to finally become a world champion, but that statement he made is total rubbish🫨. Jai Opetaia won the World title fighting 3 time former world Cruiserweight title holder 'Mairis Breidis'....and with a broken jaw from round 2. Definitely not the cleverest thing CBS has said recently

Jeez, Chris is a good fighter, but Opetaia is a great fighter, & he will take Smith apart in 4 rounds, he's just different class, & is about 2 levels above Chris.
