This is the greed and self-importance of celebrities. They start as singer (or whatever really), then do modelling, then acting, then create a cosmetic or clothing line, then write a book. Honestly the only respectable celebrities are the ones who stick to their thing.
@hiimjai6064
@hiimjai6064 10 ай бұрын
Not true. The ones that pursue other sources of income are the respectable ones. Music doesn’t bring in money forever. The only real money in music is through touring since artists make very little from the actual music itself. Same with actors. The average actor only makes maybe $100-$500 per day, per job (the normal people, not celebrities who make millions) so the only way they’ll truly be able to make a stable and long lasting income is by tapping into other markets that support passive income. This includes content creating, business development, and writing, which has made many artists way richer than they ever would’ve been before, hence Rihanna, Ariana, and Lady Gaga who are not consistently making music or touring anymore but still very much so thriving.

I’ve never been a huge fan of her but this actually angers me with so many authors struggling to get their work noticed and someone who already has the money has a book ghostwritten for them simply because they want to do a movie? its very difficult to get published actually. most people who get published by big publishing companies have lots of money already. It cost a lot of money to publish and to get resources for a book. the average cover of a book cost up to 5 grand. plus advertisement cost lots of money. and too even contact the publisher is difficult. the reason for self publishing is for people WHO dont have enough money or resources, and makes it easier for self publishers. as the saying goes. it takes money to make money. Aswell for writing a book, you need an agent if you want a publisher. so she has to get a book writing publicist.

Counter-argument: book publishing industries (namely the non-CEO types) don't really make a lot of money outside of residuals from merch from popular IPs (think Harry Potter, even if Rowling takes the lion's share thanks to her good contract) or from certain books selling like hotcakes. Due to the lack of general cultural imagination in the mainstream, a lot of people make a beeline for shit like celebrity books REGARDLESS of quality. Obviously, the book publishers are going to plan for celebrity books because that is what the brainless masses are paying for. The more high selling books there are, the more leeway the editors have to publish books they legit think are good (rather than on whether they think will be sellable) There's a saying in Spanish: it's not the pig's fault for being lazy, it's the fault of the one who catches its back. We, the audience who buys these books instead of good fictional books, are the idiot who scratches the pig's back.

Instead why the hell are you selling bottled water, or getting a ghostwriter to write something you barely have any connection to, or starting an uninspired makeup/clothing line that has bad reviews. like just getting other people to do stuff for her, and then slapping her name on it to get money (as if she's not rich enough). but there's no real creativity or passion or anything meaningful in it.

This is what irks me about celebrities writing books. They know they'll make a profit off of it because they're famous while, in the mean time, there are actual AMAZING authors who are fighting for an agent and publishing contract. When you write a historical fiction novel it needs to FEEL like you are in that time period, not the same one we're in now. The conversation and dialogue just proves she didn't really do much research about it. The book would've been better if Ray actually died lol. It would've had a deeper theme about treating people with kindness and forgiveness no matter what because you never know when that's the last time you'll see them.

I really like Millie Bobby Brown, she’s doing a lot of nice things like helping sheltered animals, however I think she should focus on her acting career. She is a really good actress, but she is trying to do everything else and all at once, the outcome of that is not really that good. For example her makeup and skincare brand has some okay products but for this price you can get a lot better products. Same thing with the novel it’s not really that good

I would love to write my own book, I have so many fictional settings and stories in my head that I would love to read a fleshed out novel of. Unfortunately, I really struggle with writing motion. Moving a story along in an organic way is the most difficult thing for me, that transition between plot points throws me off everytime. I also struggle to have my characters interact fluidly with the world and people around them. I think, at least to myself, that my descriptive and emotional writing has impact, that I can put pen to paper and transfer those thoughts and feelings to the page. It isn't enough to have two out of three in these kinds of things. I struggle to form a connection between characters and the world in my writing because I myself am very disconnected from the world around me. I would love to write but having a story is not nearly enough, having a character is not enough nor is having a compelling world or a plot that flows like melted butter. You need all of them and you need to connect them together. At least that's been my experience, I'm clearly a novice but I like to think I know a little about stories. I am constantly buried in them afterall. I keep away from celebrity books anyway, but it's nice to know someone bothered to read this stuff.

Hi, also a writer here, and a Ghost Writer is actually a job title. Like, they're actually hired to write things from speeches, to novels, to anything that has to do with words on a page. A lot of people employ the services of ghostwriters, and it's a pretty great skill to "mimic" a person's voice. I totally understand your feelings here, but it's like Millie saw this ghost writer's book and went "yoink mine now". She was hired, that is her job. Some writers names will be on the cover of books, like Tom Clancy's novels. Should Millie have written her own book? Yeah sure. But if they're paying the writer and they're paying them well, then I don't see an issue with ghost writing. It's just up to your morals.
