But she was 17 when she left for LA, not 18. And Dina named Lindsay's manager as her guardian. So she did gave her permission. This family is pure lies, and Oprah is a bad interviewer for not calling her out.

In all honesty, Dina has as much to blame for Lindsay's issues as Lindsay was. Lindsay of course, was an addict. But so does Dina (come on, DINA's DUI's, partying and enabling behavior)... Dina really needs to get HERSELF together and back on track before she expects Lindsay to do the same. On that note, I'm very proud of Lindsay for doing better than ever. :D

Angela Fischetti Sorry to correct you but it's the other way around. Dina Lohan has been around with her partying ways towards Lindsay since 2006. I think it's more like Farrah Fawcett is a Dina Lohan wannabe but regardless, both are trash.

JS: I think a number of celebrities of her generation and her grandparents' (almost) generation have been more parent like than her parents are right now: 1) Oprah 2) Dr. Phil 3) Jimmy Fallon 4) Tina Fey 5) Emilio Estevez (he spoke wonderfully to her on Oprah a while ago or rather ABOUT her)
@AnneLiesveld

Anne Liesveld I love the one like. I just thought there are so many people who are her parents' generation who are making an effort to connect and engage her as a human being. Probably doesnt' even do the list justice the above five but I just see a soul needing a release from the worries of her adult life and I think of those five names as a big part of it. Even when she was on FAllon's show a while ago, I remember Fallon asking her if she was having fun etc and she said yes and would be willing to come back regularly-I think Lohan doesn't make any bones about who she likes or doesn't so for her to say "YES" is MASSIVE

I think Oprah exploited her by doing a show on her network within days out of rehab. You don t need stress after rehab. Immediately after and she gave her undue stress she would not have had.

She is EVIL,I know for real sources okay,I live in L.A and I know believe me she is the one that set it up and sent Lohan away to a city she never lived before and she stayed in her mansion in Long Island (paid by Lohan and by her ex husband and crazy amount of child support and spouse support ) this happened ten years a go ,people are too young to remember or something.But that was the root of everything she needed to be in L.A to close more deals and make more money.You don't make money in new york as an actor,unless you are freaking Al Pacino or some giant like that.Dina sent her away with a few credits cards and a rental furnished apartment and washed her hands.Sometimes your own parents are not good for you,just because people are related does not equals LOVE,in this case ,not even her sister supported her anymore.and her dad was in jail for ganster criminal activity in the 90s these are really not a good bunch,move away far as possible ,at least that's what I would do.

hermetic moon at the same time lindsay has admitted to hate being alone. She needs to find comfort in being alone, probably developed this because of her family just letting her loose too soon into the real world let alone with the amount of fame she had. depending on the wrong group of "friends", depending on substances. i'm sure there is "love" in that family but they used her, and still do. "My mom will always be my mom, and so will my dad", i feel sorry for her.

ragemonster You are right,is a family of addicts and very troubled people,only difference is that they are living it in the public eye not like you and I are,my family is super fucked up that's why I said bye bye when i was 16,but yeah Lindsay needs a compass and some guidance . I know there is a big burden on her because she always wanted to protect her brothers and sister,who can blame her.That's why I think that there was a totally "witch hunt: target" on her by the media and the judges that wanted to look tough on tv or something because I know people that commited bigger messes and they never had to serve 300 hours of community service,they sent her to the MORGUE!! tell me that is not personal punishment ,what she did again? stole a necklace>no way she did not,drive drunk being chased by a dozen of cars in L.A traffic? I mean she paid already for her "crimes" now people should just let her be,I get that she doesn't want to be alone but is the only way to recover. Alone and away from her toxic mom for a little bit and even the sober couch quit on her on tv,how humilliating is that? Now that I watched the whole thing I am not sure of Oprah motives behind this. anyway love lilo always .

100% agree with you. much appreciation for what oprah has done giving her this opportunity, but at the end of the day it is a business and she wanted to profit off of it. i think the show did try to set her up, and her sober coach leaving her like that, unprofessional. just as how they made lindsays life private she is entitled in keeping certain aspects of her life to herself. finding peace within herself and the commitment to move away from her mother and father will do wonders. temptation is all around, it's you at the end of the day that has to make the choice. i love her too, but idk if she's really at that mindset right now which isn't a bad thing this is going to take a lifetime to control. recovery doesn't have a day off. btw glad you got away from the toxic people in your life.

I hope Lindsay turns it around. Addictions a disease. Some ppl say, "it's a choice" - that makes no sense. Who chooses to have an addiction? You don't plan it like "oh I think I'm gonna have an addiction" NO that's not how it works. Lindsay working will keep her sober - say otherwise but during every relapse she has EVER had was when she wasn't working. Keep it up Lindsay!

You have a choice to take the drugs or not! Alcohol I can have sympathy with because that is so neutral it is like someone becoming addicted to say "coke zero" or something. No you don't choose the reality but you choose the addictive item. Like when people say they can't control getting addicted to porn or whatever. Or even internet.

My mom is so much like this, well now she is only really the Dr. Phil version but as a person with alcoholism and the wife of an abusive husband, having to raise three kids on her own basically she just did all she knew how to. Looking back I see how vulnerable, co-dependent and addicted to drama she was but also how strong and a rock she tried to be at times but alcohol and her own addiction was too powerful. Dina was not being the mom she should have been but I believe she did damn well try. I know my mom sure did but she just chose the wrong things in the end and sought for the temporary fixes rather than what was best for all of us. So I believe Dina was just limited, as was my mother and they both did the best they knew how to given their circumstances.

The worst thing an addict can do is blame others for their problems. Lindsay's problems has to do with the fact that she herself is an alcoholic. Dina has nothing to do with the allergic reaction that takes place in Lindsay's body when she picks up a mind altering substance. It wouldn't have mattered what home or lifestyle she grew up in. She could have had the best parents in the world she would have still been allergic to drugs. People who are addicts cannot drink like normal people. They are powerless over the substance. Once they take a sip their body has a reaction of craving for more which doesn't happen in normal drinker's bodies. Many people don't understand addiction and like to blame environments or others. Lindsay's solution is sobriety. Her problems will be less and less the more she works on herself.

Why is it so important to these people that Oprah be part of whatever it is that's happening in their lives???? Is she a doctor? Is she trained to cope with other people's problems? Does Oprah do therapy? Does she have the right to ask personal questions that have nothing to do with her but add to her ratings? What is it with Oprah's power over these troubled people? It just amazes me that these people have so many substance abuse problems when everything else in their lives is so good. They have the money, the power, the privilege, the arrogance, the sense of entitlement and it's still not enough to fulfill their lives. It's like they crave the career and when they get it, it's just too much to take. What do they think life is going to be once they become famous. The more you get, the higher the price.

+J kK Point one) Oprah is a very powerful and rich woman who is also very clever and has lived a lot. She took Lindsey and put her on the right path, using the best that money could buy in exchange for a doc-series for her network. Point two) Lindsey was four years old when she became famous, do you think she had a clue what the price would be?

but will her parents cry themselves to sleep at night when Lindsay's life comes to a close or will it be a loss of access to their "free pass" I feel worse for Lindsay than I do for her parents. At 54 years old, her father is a part of a generation of even in Hollywood people who gave up the stupidity 20 years ago and yet here he and his wife's whole love of their life is 28 hours a day 9 days a week 399 days out of the year (aka all of the time) being dumb and irresponsible and her mom acting so unbecoming on Dr. Phil. Wonder where Lohan gets her 28 year old attitude from when her mom acts like a twit herself
