Both Sodium and OptiFine are both massive mods that aim to improve Minecraft by increasing your game's performance Since Sodium launched in 2020, most people have concluded that OptiFine is a more well-rounded mod because of its video settings, and Sodium offers the most raw FPS. But with the 1.17 update, the landscape was changed and that can't be said anymore without proof. So, which one displays the best performance in 1.19?
This is not the most in-depth comparison, but it does include likely the most common scenarios.
To make these tests fair, I'm using my low spec laptop and my higher spec desktop. The specs can be seen in the video. Hopefully you can draw your own conclusions from this video and make your own decisions as to which mods you want to use.

The minecart issue was likely from OptiFine's tendency to change vanilla behavior. With prior controversies like being able to toggle fog, the Fast Math setting and being able to change auto-save time, it's not too clean of a mod. That's one reason why I prefer Sodium.
