Just beautiful. I'm inching closer to lighting my Primus up. It's older, but looks the same. That was swiftly done. No preheat....?

The preheat was the flame at the beginning - this model has that. Known as a rapid preheater but to be honest, it's much easier to just use methylated spirits in the well. Good luck with your Primus.

@@leepatrick01what is the process for lighting the preheater? Does it have a separate tank or a well filled externally?

@@Flat_Stanley there's a well at the base of the vertical pipe to preheat the fuel. I Fill that externally with methylated spirits and light with a match. Let it burn until it's almost out and then light the lamp itself. If you need I can make a better video than this explaining the two methods of preheating in more detail.

I think you have got a seal leak somewhere my friend, there is a definite reduction of light a few seconds after the rapid heater has been turned off. Good to see it come back to life tho.

Replaced a few seals since this vid was made. She's still burning well. Yeah, nice to see it going again after all this time in my dad's garage. I suppose the rubber had dried out and perished over time. The leather pump washer was certainly in need of replacement. Far far better than the Tilley lamp.
