I have the WFC deluxe, and it’s the reason why I never got into the GE line. I loved how the kibble compressed around the design. In my opinion, the GE doesn’t feel complex looking. WFC designs are a good mix between Bay’s detail and G1’s proportions. The old one nails that vibe, the new one does not.

The old one looks like one of those images where it looks normal on a single angle and every other angle is horrifically stretched to the next galaxy

I think the only reason people like the tumbler is because of Hans Zimmer, the music accompanying that abomination of a vehicle was actually pretty badass.

Hi PerspectiveEnd, thanks for justifying my love for the original WfC Deluxe figure. I kept seeing the new Gamer Edition seemingly flaunted as so much better, bur I loved the OG version, and never picked up the new one. My biggest issue with the old one is it should have been upscaled as a Voyager due to the complexity. To this day, if I want a Cybertronion version of Optimus, this is my go to figure (sorry, I know you love Siege Prime, and while I will never call it a bad figure, to me it's not a Cybertron mode Prime, just a cabover earth truck with a few extra bits stuck on to try to be alien). Anyway, thanks for the comparison video.

The old figure does indeed rock that hard. "Cybertronian" Optimus was one of the figures that got me into collecting back in 2010, and there are still only a small handful of deluxes to match it, let alone surpass it.

Apparently the arm being absurdly loose is a common problem. I was equally as infuriated so I had to put some kiki on it. Found out Kiki is just water based polyurethane so I got a lifetime supply with a temp tattoo kit(small bottles/needles for application) on Amazon. It really is a miracle fluid. I hate having to do it but these types of problems can really ruin the experience for me.

I have both and definitely enjoy aspects of each figure doesn’t help my original wfc primes arms are loose but I got it for a steal from a friend of mine. What do you think of gamer Megatron? Idk if you’re planning a review for him it gets a lot of hate but for some reason I enjoy him (minus the knees lmao) amazing vid as always perspective!

While I understand why you prefer the proportions of the old one, I must say that there is really no contest about accuracy between the two. The Og looks like WFC Prime but the SS is WFC Prime, he has all the right details, proportions, and with a dab of paint it looks almost identical to the in-game model

I always hated all the high moon designs but I have many international friends who asked me if I want their planet x grimlock because for some reason they bought two I don't know what to do now. Should i accept the offer or not

This is cathartic. Basically every other reviewer treats this thing like the second coming of Christ and I feel like I was the crazy one for thinking it was just the best of a very bad subline. The old one was, what, $15? Now we're expected to pay $35 for what feels like a downgraded, upscaled version, and no one seems to care. Edit: The gap in the back of truck mode is such an insult I feel the need to mention it by name. The good news is you can fix it by paying _$40_ for an upgrade kit. That's what I want, $80 for a mediocre voyager.

I have the ✨gamer edition✨ Megatron and I put tape around the arm connector peg so it stays on the arm, so that's a possible fix for the falling arms if you don't mind the loss of the gun arm stuff (as you most likely don't), so I hope you enjoy that fix, got the idea from jobbythehong's megatank review (3P BBM Megatron)

Why do you have the record voice at super fast?. I have to change the setting to .75x slower just to heard and understand what you are saying?.

My GE arm falls off constantly, even after applying a ton of clear nailpolish. I also have a problem with one of the feet popping off every time you try to go from alt mode to robot mode. I ended up filing down the tab that holds that foot locked in so i can move it without it popping off. Then I ended up buying the upgrade kit for it, and it is a lot better...still not perfect, but it is definitely better.

The rear smokestacks on the original rotate in vehicle mode, too, so that you don’t see the gaps and it fits/slots better into the thighs

This is how I treat it: Gamer Edition WFC Optimus is obviously better and far superior, with an opening chest, bigger axe, gun arm switching gimmick, better transformation, and bigger size. However, I didn't bother getting him despite finding him in person, because the older Generations figure still holds up. He may not have the articulation, but he still has the bulk, especially in vehicle mode, and the gun he comes with has that cool folding gimmick which, when added to his truck mode, makes it look like an armored personnel carrier. So, if you don't have the old one, get the new one. If you have the old one, you can lay off the new one and save the money for Legacy United Silverbolt.

The og high moon was my second ever transformer after siege hound, he's an incredible figure and i haven't transformed him in a while though, ill have to do that

I had the same problem with the arm, and joint tightener never worked, so I heavily recommend putting masking tape on his arm peg.

It has a pretty good butterfly joint if you extend the shoulder out for transformation. I don't know why you didn't use it

I have the old figure and love it. Only problem with it was a QC issue of one of the shoulders being incorrectly assembled. (I wanted it more for the figure then anything so I had to file it otherwise it did not transform)

Honestly kinda I’m tempted, my local has a bunch of them in stock marked down to 20. But on the other side I’m not mad into it. I did see a fantastic custom that turned it into a cybertronian Altmode for Optimus primal. It fit really well.

Honestly my thoughts on the GE version is more fateful in many ways It's more robust and more accurate to the game model and cutscene model. My only gripes with it is that the axe needs to be painted a bit more and painted the right color. The ion blaster needs to ba a bit bigger and more secure along with his arm And he needs to get those blinkers on the back of his alt mode like he does in the game and the engine on the back like the old figure had because thats game accurate too

It seems like most of the new releases in the past 2 yrs, have cheaper and squishier plastic. I have never seen the game, so I do like this figure a lot. And the issue you're having with the arm coming off, I'm not having. In fact it's a struggle to get mine off at all

You can add a layer of top coat or super glue to the gun arm post or hole, to make it thicker and not fall off. I did that for 86 kup

The Og Deluxe is one of my favorite figures in my collection and possibly my favorite Optimus figure ever, and I have never played the games, so I don't have any nostalgia towards the High Moon Designs. It is just amazing in EVERY aspect and i just love him so much. I really want to like GE but I feel like they aren't trying nearly as hard as they were back then with this subline. I got Bumblebee a while back beacause I wanted a smaller version to scale with my Deluxe Optimus and Megatron and I'm pretty happy but the rest of the line is just not all that impressive sadly. Hope it gets better as time goes on.

Glad to see a figure I really liked covered the day before my birthday! Can’t wait for tomorrow because I get to spend it with my girlfriend! She is amazing and I am so glad I met her. So glad I met her!

I was so excited for the GE toys. I get that the art style just like animated isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but those are those are the two series that got me into transformers, I remember waking up at 4 in the morning to watch animated with my dad before he left for work when I was 5 I believe. I also remember playing wfc out in the living room with both my parents watching, it was so fun. So imagine my excitement when I hear legacy is going to have animated figures and that SS is going to do one of my fav primes and my all time fav Megatron, I was ecstatic and this was right after kingdom had left me soured and I had fallen out of transformers. First prowl, like the toy got be hopefully and excited for animated bee and prime, then they get revealed and I die in side. Oh and my rage when I saw the GE toy photos, uh my rage was palpable. The plastic looked so cheap in the photos, bumblebee was all wrong, don’t even get me started on barcaied. I know SS start from alt to robot but for these that was a mistake, most people don’t care about these alt bricks and primarily like the robots, so going and screwing up their bot modes for things I’m never going to display already had me upset. But I held hope since Megatron wasn’t revealed so hopefully they’re taking more time with him to make him better. Then reveal, okay I just want to bash my head into the designers face. Just how did you screw Meg’s up like that, primarily what the hell is that on his back, like I know the shoulder spike on the arm isn’t the right size but that just doesn’t matter, where’s his big decepticon logo that the old deluxe had. Why is his head look like it’s been hit on both sides with a hammer. I went and left a bunch of comments in a blind rage on the hasbro video showing him off asking how they managed to screw it up. Oh and starscream while I do think he’s the best out of all of them, that’s not saying much taking into account his chest. Like they had to make his chest that big for transfomation, I do not buy that, the old deluxe didn’t do that, and like I know the designer is good, he made the beast wars inferno which is amazing. This just was very disappointing with all these things, I know with how poor GE has done that hasbro upper jerks will take that as a lack of fan interest rather then because of them screwing it up. Sorry for the rant, it’s honestly made me get less figures as I’m more particular now, I’m thinking about ordering legacy beach comber as g2 beachcomber was my first toy, I found it in a bin at value village. And thinking about legacy silverbolt and tiger hawk.

Found the original at a goodwill. I frickin hate him. Takes me 20 minutes to transform, tolerances are screwed, he can barely stand, and the bumblebee from the same line is taller than him!

Absolutely love the new version! Hated how small the older version was and absolutely hated he has no heel so he easily falls over every god damn time something slightly bumps into him.

Ok, I don't own the old one.... So let's talk about the GE: 1. Sometimes I like to extend his shoulders and pretend that's the intended look. Swolest Prime kinda makes me laugh. 2. Luckily, my arm doesn't have a problem falling off. 3. "Fist holsters". Thanks, now I can't unsee that. 4. The plastic quality was one of the 1st things I noticed. It sucks, but it doesn't ruin the figure for me. 5. How did I never realize he has no backward movement at the legs? 6. The leg panels in bot mode bother me way more than the fists do in alt mode. They just stick out a bit farther than I'd like them to. 7. The head being so small kinda emphasizes how BEEFY this Prime is. Personally, like a 7/10. He has a unique look, pretty fun transformation ,and an (almost) kibble free alt mode.

I've had this low grade desire for that old figure for a long time and just didn't pull the trigger. so when the new one came out I thought oh here's one that will scratch that itch... And it just did not.
