Checking out the Oracle Arms 2311 pistol at Gun Con '23 range day. This is a 2011-style handgun that accepts Sig P320 magazines. It features an aluminum and polymer grip module that utilizes two different magwells to adjust the grip length between a compact and a full size. The 2311 was very pleasant to shoot. The trigger is crisp, although a little heavier than what you'd expect in a 1911/2011 platform; however, I tend to prefer slightly heavier triggers and normally run Glocks so this was a non-issue. It has a very smooth and pleasant recoil impulse. I'm excited to get my hands on one of these next month and put some extended trigger time on the gun. The pistols come optic ready for the DPP, Shield RMS and RMR footprints. They are available in a few configurations including a base model and a Pro cut model.

You just be new to the 2011 game. That’s a good price for a quality 2011 style pistol. Staccato 2011’s cost just over $2k for the cheapest model and over $4k for the top end. You can always get you a Springfield Prodigy 2011 for $1,250 but it won’t compare to an Oracle or Staccato. My 2011 style Bul Armory SAS UR for USPSA open division cost $3,800 which is extremely cheap for an open division 2011. Most of my buddies 2011 open division pistols cost $7k up to $11k+

There are plenty of $10k+ 2011s that use STI mags. It's pretty much the standard. Proprietary mags are not seen as a benefit in most cases because a lot of people have already invested thousands of dollars into mags for their 2011s. Each mag is at least $100, and that's not even including probably another $100 per baseplate if you want mag extensions. So at $200 a mag, if you had 10 mags, which isn't even a lot, thats already 2 grand right there.

Two questions: how was the trigger?(I’m guessing staccato p-ish weight and feel) Is it like a 320 in that you can add lok grip panels?

The trigger has a heavier wall than what you'd expect from a 1911/2011 style pistol, but it is still short and crisp. Keep in mind this is a pre-production model I'm shooting, so YMMV. Regarding the grip panels, I'm unsure but I think the answer is "no." The grip integrates with various magwells to create the size, if that makes sense, and they never mentioned LOK compatibility. But I should receive mine in the next month or so and can do some more in-depth reviewing.

@@RoofKoreanConcepts thanks for the response. Having owned multiple 2011s, I find ergonomics to be on my wishlist every single time. I was potentially interested in this for that reason but if I can’t adjust the grip then I won’t bother.

@@RoofKoreanConcepts thanks for the info...I was being facetious about the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro being mounted on the Oracle because several guys in my agency have experienced many problems with it ranging from mounting plate loosening, life of the battery, red dot not working even with new batteries and after zeroing the dot, the dot misaligned for unknown reasons in relation to the iron sights...we even placed witness marks on the windage and elevation adjustment screws. We bought about 40 of them and about 7 of them have experienced those above issues. So, I do not recommend the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, way too many problems! If you want a very reliable red dot go with a Holosun with closed emitter, like the EPS. So, my whole point is if you're going to spend that kind of money on an Oracle get a reliable red dot.

The grip is a little different than what is standard for a 2011, obv bc it accommodates Sig 320 mags. The magwell makes up a portion of the grip, but it wasn't uncomfortable. The trigger is heavier than a 1911/2011 typically is, but tbh I don't mind. It has a little take up, a heavier wall, and a crisp break. Short reset. The pistol runs well, well balanced, ergonomically points well. Mine should be to me by late August or early September I'm hoping, and I'll do a more in-depth review at that time.

Couldn't be more mistaken. The Springfield didn't create hype for the 2011. STI/Staccato and others like Infinity and SVI made the 2011 one of the highest competing pistols ever. Springfield launched an absolute turd version of the 2011, and they've made 1911s for decades, so there was no excuse other than them trying to rush into the increasingly dense market.
