*PLEASE NOTE - THE HEADS FEATURED ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE ORAL-B iO*
~~~
Simply put, despite the variety, for the majority, there is no one best brush head for your Oral-B toothbrush. It is more important to focus on your brushing time, frequency and technique than the style of head.
You can learn the correct brushing technique by watching the following video: • How To Use An Electric...
Potentially particular heads will benefit in some circumstances, for example, a 3D White brush head may achieve better results for those wanting to remove surface stains.
Jon covers the CrossAction, FlossAction, Sensi UltraThin, 3D White and many more in this video.
Very mixed messages when googling if Ultra Thin fits normal size Braun toothbrush ? please help? Is it ultra thin - ie does not fit standard toothbrush ?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 3 жыл бұрын
Jodi. The name UltraThin refers to the thickness of the bristles. This UltraThin brush head should work on almost any Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush. It fits on just like other styles of brush head such as CrossAction, FlossAction, Sensitive and more.
In reality they are marketing gimmicks actually though that's the way it is with everything that's a big known company o Oral-B is a big-name company just look at water companies they got so many of these gimmicks like alkaline water the only thing alkaline water helps us with heartburn it doesn't help with anything else you don't actually need alkaline water so it's the same way with the toothbrush there may be some every once in awhile that you find that actually do help but there are also marketing gimmicks
Well ultimately I would pick the Sensi UltraThin brush head. That has the softest bristles. With a good oral care routine that still removes the plaque and surface stains from the teeth.
Excellent tutorial on brush heads. Love my Oral B tooth brush. I have a few crooked teeth that need to be cleaned in tight and uneven spaces and had been looking at the heads made for partials that have the three sets of brush strands with a single set of strands in the middle. It would only be occasional but I’ve had a head similar and it did a great job. 👍🏻Again thanks.
Orel B and bunch of dentists recommend that I change out my brush head after 3 months because the bristles have worn and lots of bacteria have collected between the bristles. I think it's all bunk and of course it is all about marketing to get you to buy new ones. However, what they say is scary. Feeling concerned, I compared my 6 month brush head to a new one under magnification. I found that there was hardly any differences in wear and bristles stiffness when compared to a new brush head. If you are concerned about bacteria and germs collected on the head after 3 months of usage, I suggest that a new one will collect just as much after a few usage. If you are concern about bacteria and germs in your month then soak the brush head in bleach, which kills 99.9% of the bacteria and germ. Amazingly, that I am alive and my mouth has not been damaged by all kinds of sores because I did not change out the brush head. As an engineer, I have concluded that the recommendation makes no sense at all. My teeth have not suffered from keeping the brush head until I feel like replacing it. I think I have used only 3 brush heads since Dec 2019 when the Orel B tooth brush was new. I hope I have convince you to come to the same conclusion. Back to Orel B. Those 30 second pause and the 2 minute double pauses are also annoying to me. My teeth are not the same. Each one has character. Some require additional brushing because they are used to chew more than others. Therefore, I ignore those timely indicators, and I wish there was a way to cancel those 30 second and 2 minute time defaults. The best Orel B tooth brush is the one that does not have the features that do not get your teeth any cleaner. Orel B 1000 is all you need. It cost around $40.
Nah, I can tell the brush head is starting to wear down after 3 months. I can push it to 4 months and still do a good job but I like to change it at 3months. Are you brushing 2x/day? And yes, you can get the cheap brush and still do a good job. The expensive ones just have extra bells and whistles that some may like.
I used to use a manual toothbrush, found myself only brushing in the morning time for about 30 seconds (nasty I know). Switched 3 months ago to oral b electric toothbrush and I've been brushing day and night for 2 mins, haven't missed a beat since. Not only do my teeth look 100% whiter but feel so much more cleaner!! I also floss every night and use a tongue scraper. For me Manuel toothbrushes gave me no desire to want to clean my teeth like I should. I definitely recommend electric toothbrushes!!!
Same here, I wish more dentist would recommend electric toothbrushes. It took me a long time to take my oral hygiene serious until a dentist told me after a cleaning that I should use an electric toothbrush. it gives you so much more motivation to clean your teeth. I guess cause I'm lazy and electric toothbrush does most the work for me. Have had my Phillips sonic care electric brush for 2 years and since every dentist visit they actually compliment how clean my teeth and mouth are lol
Seriously. I feel you on bewildered. There was about 12 different ones and then different versions of those 12 (heads, colours, options, timers, etc.). Priced from $12- $300. This is my first electric and I'm not even sure if I'd like using it over manual so I decided to go entry level at $25 on sale, try it, and then eventually upgrade if I do like it more and the vibrations don't irritate me. Just tried it out tonight, got the sensitive one because I just had dental work done this week and she said to be careful to start. There is for sure a cleaner feel over using my manual brush. I didn't notice the timer working at all though and went based on my watch. I may turn it on and just monitor it and see if it pauses after 2 mins without bushing, just watching. Maybe I got a dud. But it's really cleaned them, and I'm curious now to see a vid on the proper technique for using one. I feel like I'm leveling up.
Recently purchased the Precision Clean head. I can really recommend. It is a good choice between Sensi Ultrathin and Cross Action!! If you inspect Crossaction head there are 4 dark blue bristles which are very thick / hard. Usually it caused me bleeding gums, and irritated my gums. I could not use it on full speed. I bought the NEW Precision Clean head, with Cleanmaximiser technology, bristles feels more soft. Bristles different color (green color bristles) First I used it with the massage mode, as the crossaction, but not a great result.... So I switched to full speed, and voila it worked like a charm. And I tested on my gums and not irritated them! Even on full speed! Much softer, but great cleaning result!
From my experience with Oral B electric toothbrushes and for the time I have been using them until I switched to a Sonicare I have found that the Precision Clean brush head is the best overall. The Cross Action brush head has hard bristles that can irritate your gums especially on the first week of use while the Sensi ultrathin brush head is soft but it has a very short lifespan as only 2-3 weeks after that I found that it didn't cleaned my teeth very well. As for the other brush heads they do not offer anything special and under any circumstances do not use the Floss Action brush head as this brush head is the hardest of all and it will tear your gums apart after a couple of brushing sessions.
@@alanmlkbanda Avoid the sensitive clean brush heads as they don't clean your teeth even on first use. The Precision Clean and Cross Action are the best overall and they last on average 3 months. My personal recommendation is to use the Precision Clean as it cleans your teeth very well and does not irritate your gums like the Cross Action does.
Recently got an Oral-B to replace a Sonicare that had the infamous piston pulling from its housing defect. Tried the standard CrossAction head it came with, but after a month it seems to be irritating one part of my gumline to the point it gets painful when using the brush on it. I do have sensitive teeth, so it looks like I'll be trying to the sensitive brushhead before giving up on the Oral-B, as I never had this issue with my Sonicare. Definitely worried about recession if it is causing pain. It is along the front of one of my molars, so perhaps my cheek is forcing the brush to exert too much pressure (without triggering the sensor) for the firmness of the standard brush head. I notice I do have to force the back of the brush against my cheek in order for it to only glide across gently. Seems my cheeks are too tight!
Most heads will perform the same. Brushing the tongue with something is better than nothing. Our general preference is a tongue scraper (separate product).
I recently bought the Oral-B IO 6100 2 pack from Costco, I’m fine with it but my wife doesn’t like the small round head. Was going to look into the Sonicare for a more traditional brush head but I didn’t realize Oral-B makes the tri zone. After reading many reviews it seems that technique is more important than toothbrush brand and I really don’t think it’s the right thing to do as far as returning a toothbrush after using it. Should we keep the Oral-B?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 2 жыл бұрын
You are right, technique and actually using it is more important than the toothbrush alone. But, if your wife doesnt get on with it then this could be an issue. The TriZone head does not work with the Oral-B iO though if you were thinking of trying this. The iO has its own range of heads. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gN9daapytMjOZIE.html Oral-B do offer a money back scheme you could try if your brush is eligible. www.electricteeth.com/oral-b-60-day-money-back-guarantee/
Most bristles are a medium firmness, like the CrossAction heads for example. Our top recommendations are the CrossAction or the Sensitive/Sensi UltraThin f you want the softer bristles.
Hi, great vid - thanks for the info! I do have a specific question though: I have previously had a problem with receding gums, and working with advice from my dentist have been able to stop any further receding. Which brush head would you say is best for this issue? I want to ensure that the gumline is clean, but not make any further pushing on my gums. I currently use the CrossAction. Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 2 жыл бұрын
James. I would suggest the Sensitive/Sensi UltraThin as this is the softest bristled head and will be most gentle on the tooth and gum. Perhaps try alongside CrossAction and see what you prefer and take advice from your dentist based on your personal situation. I suspect they will agree with the softest brush head.
@jamesdaltrey2340
@@stephblank8204 Hi Steph, I was brushing previously in a bad way - using a manual brush at the time and moving it up and down rapidly at the front. Also using a side to side motion which wasn't good. With the manual brush he told me to use slow gentle circular strokes over the front teeth gumline, this had a massaging effect as well as keeping the gumline clear of plaque, which I was concerned about if I couldn't brush them the way I was. This prevented any further receding. My gums were looking red in colour and sore to start with which my dentist informed me was because I was then not brushing them properly. So much better after switching to an electric toothbrush since, but I use a similar technique at the front - just allow it to gently do it's thing over the gum area without any pressure or rapid motion. If the gums are pale pink and looking clear, you're doing it right!
@@ElectricTeethI would also like to know. I used to get cross action heads for a cheap price from my dentist, but they stopped selling them. Target sells a 3-pack of them for $40, but a 3-pack of daily clean is only $20. The packaging states that they remove 500% and 100% more plaque than a manual brush respectively, but I’m unsure if it’s largely a marketing gimmick or not. Great video though, thanks!
The 3D cleaning action is led by the handle, not the head. All heads are compatible with the 3D cleaning action, not all handle are. Although, the majority of Oral-B brush handles do offer 3D cleaning action. Which model featured are you referring to? Throughout the video we show a variety of clips of brushes. Sorry we didn't go into such detail. We wanted to keep the video brief, but informative. The 'Sensitive' head is mainly being phased out in preference for the 'Sensi UltraThin'. So really the Sensi UltraThin is the one to go for. The bristles appear marginally softer, although I have no exact measurement for this. The gaps in the bristles are not a concern based on the way the head moves and the cleaning action.
