I ended up going with the Genius X. My main gripe with the IO is that replacement heads are around $15 compared with $5 for the Genius X. Let's face it, both brushes are luxury items by most people's standards.

Fun fact, the Genius X actually was rated higher by "Stiftung Warentest", an independent German organization that tests various consumer products on efficacy, cleanliness, whether you're getting what you pay for and other factors. The Genius X, according to them, cleans plaque more reliably than the iO series.

Electric Teeth it would be perfect for Oral B to make an app update, would be to make the to show a user how to position either the Oral B Genius X or IO. So that the app would know exactly where a user is brushing perfectly.

I bought the iO 9 toothbrush yesterday and I've been extremely satisfied. I read reviews about people saying it's a totally different cleaning experience saying your mouth will feel much cleaner, like from after a dentist visit. I must say I thought they were exaggerating a bit but I now totally understand what they mean. My previous toothbrush was an Oral B from 2003 and the difference is worlds apart. My teeth are also much whiter already. Also just wanted to mention that it now shows full battery percentage on the display instead of increments of 10 and it also shows battery percentage on your phone app.

I have the Genius X and I find it gives quite good results. A few quibbles though...1: You can’t select cleaning mode before switching the unit on. 2: Noisy. 3: The brushing pressure at which the red light illuminates is too great in my opinion. I feel you could damage your gums if you were to rely on that solely. These issues seemed to been addressed with the io but the price tag is prohibitively expensive for me. €600 for a toothbrush is nuts. I paid about €120 for the genius in a Black Friday deal, and I felt that was expensive enough.

Id really like to see a comparison in the micro vs pulse mechanism difference. That is the main point of interest Im trying to find out about.

One thing I’m surprised you didn’t mentioned is that you have to hold the phone up for the real time visual on the app which I find it to be very annoying and ended up not using it. So for those that plans on buying this for that feature, I would reconsider.

I want to decide between these 2. I've been using Oral B Professional Care 3000 for almost 4 years now and it used to last 2 weeks but now it only lasts 4-5 days; "2 weeks+ battery life for Genius X and 5-7 weeks for the iO" but on paper they are both supposed to last 2 weeks ?!! 1. Is this because of the new motor on iO or cause of a higher battery capacity? 2.Does the iO that you guys are testing still last that long in 2021? 3.Also does getting fully charged in only 3 hours with iO compared to 9-10 hours with Genius X mean that the lifespan of iO's battery is considerably worse than Genius X? (because fast charging shortens battery lifespan)

Electric Teeth a perfect upgrade for the Oral B app would be for the genius x or io series brush position detection technology to know how a users position the toothbrush.

Black friday 2021: io9 - 300cad vs genius x luxe - 165cad. Between the price gap and cost of replacement heads I went with the latter. Who knows what crazy toothbrushes will be available when it comes time to replace it.

The app detects a user brushing somewhere else because they do not position the brush the right way. For instance, for the top jaw, a user should lift their arm to clean the upper jaw, and a user should keep their arm floating and aligned to the arch they're brushing. However, when brushing the back teeth, the app would detect brush only if a user pushes the brush in such a way that the brush handle would point out of the mouth to the side of the brushing.p

I'm having Oral B Triumph professional care 5000 for the last 10 years, I guess. Has changed battery 4 times. In general it still provides good performance, but I don't have other experience :) Now I'm thinking switch it to iO 7. Will I notice any difference? What do you think Electric Teeth?

Electric Teeth when using either brush with position detection a user with need to be position the brush hand to the section they're cleaning. That's how the app will actually know were the user is brushing. Front teeth: The brush handle should be straight across the front. At a 45 degree and to the gum line. .

The iO is an insane priced brush that includes just a simpele screen what you cant even see during brushing.

I had the io, I returned it. It felt like a sonicare and I didn’t like that it doesn’t have a rubber grip. Makes it slippery.

Electric Teeth do you think it's a good to try not to look at the app while using the AI tooth tracking. I notice when I didn't look at the app once throughout the brush session, I got a score of 72%. My lower left sections was the only section that did turn completely white.

Other benefits the IO brush has is that Oral B are the only brand produce brush heads that will work properly all the time. While many companies make replicas that either work or don't the for the Genius X.

Electric Teeth maybe in the future water flosser brands might create Bluetooth Cordless AI Waterflosser that might do a similar job. Which should teach a user the right amount of time to floss with a cordless waterflosser, that way a user wouldn't have fill the water flosser more than once. And the app should always track out the flossing time, so that a user would spend the right amount of time flossing.

I have a question about the lack of grip on IO. Is it comfortable to hold in hand or annoying. Genius x has a grip which is soft and not slippery. Whereas IO looks hard and slippery. I know they were going for sleek design but seems like they might have compromised comfort, i think rubber grip back would not ruin their design.

How are the oled displays holding up 2 years in? Any fading or display failures?

Having seen this video and read comments I still could not make up my mind. I got both, price was very similar, both on sale so price was not the issue, IO only £30 more than Genius X. I just wanted what would be the best for me. And I will be keeping Genius X, returning IO. Disappointed with the cleaning action of IO, Genius X is better for me because I like a good clean, but if someone likes more gentle then IO would be fine. I love IO design and how quiet it works. If only it had same brush head and same cleaning action as Genius. I even considered keeping both, but then I don’t see what would IO bring to the table for me other than fancy design. I already have a gentler sonic brush, that i use as spare in occasions. Genius x has one major disadvantage for me, it’s too noisy. But since the perfect toothbrush doesn’t exist (in my opinion), Genius X seems to be the next best thing.

I have the Genius x 10000N with 7 cleaning modes. it's off, because it can be used like a normal toothbrush and has 6 switchable, i.e. 7 cleaning modes. I also have the mount for the smartphone for the mirror. next to the charging station I have a cover for another 4 toothbrushes. For on the go I have 2 brushes and a holder for the smartphone and the case has air pockets and is colored with the purple so that it does not get moldy, the plastic case of the II. I can use the charging plug from the brown shaver on the travel case, the is completely identical. I can also charge my smartphone with the Genius x with a normal USB plug. the Genius x also lasts the guaranteed at least 14 days. I'm not interested in the charging time from 12 to 4 hours, because you only brush your teeth twice a day, otherwise you damage your tooth enamel, so it can also charge for 10 hours. you simply get more with the Genius x and I can't say whether it's louder than a Braun io, but I don't care because I need 3 to 4 minutes per brushing, then the hd color display on the toothbrush doesn't interest me because I that can't read when using and switch mode next and see that in the app. Ultimately, this is a comparison between Mercedes and Audi. when purchased, the Genius X 10000N in purple was the premium model. on the one hand I can attach the adapter to the mirror and use the smartphone Android and iOS. the status of the Genius X is guaranteed and then lights up from the charging indicator, Bluetooth over all 7 cleaning modes. the bathroom is white, the purple is also ultimately white and with the rubber coating I have this toothbrush in my hand securely. the Genius x just looks great and is simply cheaper in the long run, this was still the premium model a short time ago. the Genius x costs 93 euros with 4 brushes, the smartphone holder on the mirror, the cover for another 4 toothbrushes and the travel case, the io 10 Life Coach with case and container 319 euros.

On the past a had a Genius X and the motor spot all the fuctions with 6 mouths of use, the Oral-b send to me a iO9 to replace on garanty, i think the iO9 is a conderable upgrade because feel is so much stroger than Genius X. The problem with the genius X is so comum in my coutry and the Genius X have a fame of no confiable for long time

Good info in your review- however, I have just tried an IO and the vibration is so strong I am not able to use it- The reason I don't buy the other brand that has the water spraying through the brush is because that brand only offers a vibrating brush whereas the Oral B company offers brushes that go in a circle and to me typically offers way less vibration of the brush. So for some reason Oral B decided to do a tiny rotation plus the other feature which tickles my nose and face so much i am returning mine. My oldest Oral B goes in a complete circle?. that one runs by replaceable battery. So now on the search for a modern one that goes in a good circle and has less vibration than the IO. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you

I am a dentist, I tried the new IO brush and I really don't like it. Heads are too large for kids too. After like 5 minutes of brushing my teeth were still not clean like after 2 minutes with the pro/genius series. So I had to finish with the genius after 5 minutes on the new IO series 9.... It's ridiculous. I'm buying another pro or genius one to replace my dying one.

I don’t agree with this guy‘s assessment in the first 10 seconds. I tested the new iO version myself. Immediately I noticed there is no longer a spin brushing but this ultra vibration experience. He says that it’s softer and smoother. Why do you want that? And just the same as the IO the genius version also has a light indicator if you press too hard. Perhaps the biggest selling point for the older version are the heads are twice as expensive to replace. Also the travel case happens to double as a charger which is nice where the newer version does not include that for the IO. And as far as oral care is concerned, yes I love the stealth fighter design of the new one and I actually even like the magnet facet I was worried about. I even had my Latina who was a past dental Front desk girl with me at target and I just so happen to have the two on display where you can turn them on and we could feel how the older one felt like it just had a stronger groove. The Genius X is way better value for money. There is absolutely no difference between the brushing between the 2 to justify the price of the iO in comparison to the Genius X

99% of the info I've noticed on your electric toothbrush videos are basically just bits of info we can find out from reading a specs/features list on a store or manufacturer's website. How about trying to include more information about your thoughts and opinions of actually using the products and their performance and other qualities from first-hand use? I learned nothing from this video because you just stated specs/features/info that the manufacturer's website and retailers list on their site (with the exception that you said one case had a slightly cheaper feel than the other - that's the type of info most people are looking for - info that isn't normally listed/described on stores & mfr sites). There are so many more attributes & qualities to consider. Some feel like they clean rougher, some feel like they give a better "just came from the dentist" feel, some seem to work better for people with receding gums, some are more idiot-proof while others may need better technique to get the best out of it, some have more pleasant/unpleasant sound regardless of actual decibel levels, etc. etc. etc. More "real world use" info would be much appreciated in future vids rather than 90% of info being "on paper" numbers & info. Sorry if my message comes across as rude, I'm still watching lots of your videos to gain little bits of insights here & there but there's just so much potential to offer so much more helpful information even if it is subjective & qualitative rather than objective and quantitative.
