Orange Yogurt Cake Recipe is absolutely soft and fluffy, thanks for the yogurt. It's tasty because of the mixture of fresh orange zest and fresh orange syrup spread on the cake. It's perfect for breakfast, snack or even dessert after your meal with a cup of coffee or tea.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup plain yogurt or greek yogurt
3/4 cup sugar
3 (L) eggs
2 tsp grated orange zest (about 2 oranges)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup vegetable oil
For Orange Syrup
1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
1/4 cup sugar
PROCEDURES
- Preheat the oven to 170 °C. Grease the loaf pan (8 "x 5") with butter or oil and line the bottom
with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt then mix.
- In another large bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, yogurt, vanilla extract and grated orange zest.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients then beat.
- Add the vegetable oil then continue beating until well incorporated. Scrape down the side
of the bowl with a spatula.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan, then tap three times.
- Top with peeled and thinly sliced ​​orange (this is optional)
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick or skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Meanwhile, add the sugar and orange juice to a small pan over low heat. Stir until the sugar
dissolves and thickens a bit, then set aside.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
- Place on a rack with parchment paper and gently brush the cake with orange syrup.
- Serve hot or cold. Enjoy!
