Where's the nice painting behind? I see some dreary bookshelves, kind of an old British house library with that pathetic wallpaper the British use to apply on their walls. It does remind me of something though.

Isn’t the head of the European Council SUPPOSED to do diplomacy? The job Borrell WAS definitely supposed to do being the head EU foreign affairs, but never ever even tried to and whose work seemed to be more the job of the Ministry of War, Propaganda and Belligerence, a racist violating EU laws in his unbridled hate speech, his Russophobia. Should be behind bars.

@JamesBrown-ux9ds

Yes and - Putin will still have extremly high hurdles for the west to jump over towards peace. The US, Nato, Nuland and the small baltic states cleary said they were after Russia, Russia to become sliced into several states, to fight Russia until the last Ukrainean, etc.. Behind closed Doors I would ask the heads of von der Leyen, Stoltenberg, Nuland and Selensky on a silver plattern before any talks could start at all. And of course this war is building up momentum towards the west everyday more (1) - the NK troops now arriving want to see more of the west as well - why should they turn just west of the Donbass (2) around without having seen Lwiw or Berlin(3)? 1 - So why should Putin hold it back? 2 - The 'EDF - Eurasian Defense Force, Sector NK', needs to become trained all around the eurasian plate anyway, why not use this chance to make it a little more familiar with it's future fields of duty with regard to the coming decades? 3 - Proactive western diplomacy would invite them, a group of them to Berlin, 'Wandel durch Annäherung' - 'Wo sie nun einmal in der Ukraine sind, könnten Sie doch auch gleich noch ein bisschen weiter nach Westen fahren, dass man sich diplomatisch ein bisschen näher bekannt machen könnte, auch so unter Soldaten?' (Honecker war ja eigentlich auch ein Betonkopf.)

The world Bank just raised Russia to high income from upper middle in their yearly assessment. They are also expected to grow gdp 2.5 % . All this despite sanctions. They have all needed resources and need nothing from us or Europe. Now they have brics countries and a war economy that is outproducing the west in artillery. It will take us 2 years to match output. We need to face the fact that the west and nato badly underestimated Russia Ukraine is out of men just about and the west is out of weapons. Europe is who gets screwed the worst in all this with an economy in shambles and no oil. When Trump gets back in office we will go back to being energy independent and a net exporter of oil again. We have more oil in shale than saudi. Biden stopped that on day 1 because he's bought and paid for by the green lobby and special interest groups . The west is on the wrong side of history on this one.

Indeed, well in reality there wasn't anyone worth the effort, it's like turkey's voting for Xmas. Our whole corrupt political system is an absolute joke, on us, and life's experiences over the last few decades, the decline of our living standards, unnecessary wars, the WEF covid plandemic farce, agenda lockdown etc, financial meltdown, have totally destroyed people's faith in any government body, except for the few small parties that never stood a chance anyway.

Good evening from Burgundy, Alexander and thank you so much for your patient description of the move in three different countries (the UK, France and the USA) from government to administration. Following your comments on Margaret Thatcher (which I must say, I share) - it is somewhat remarkable that Farage and Trump apart - the West seems to lack any effective or talented politicians. Thank goodness for the Duran - that we have people who can share our frustration and incomprehension of this sickening and extremely wasteful void. It is interesting that you complete today’s show with a description of Orban’s latest activity in his new role as President of the European Union. Actual government as well as diplomacy now seem to be « foreign », to those now actually in charge. Alexander, please continue your excellent work. Peace and love James…x

[Outstanding, Russian Armed Forces! God go with you as He has so many times in perilous battles, Borodino to name one!] Russian forces have carried out 23 combined strikes on Ukrainian targets in the past week, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said. The attacks, which took place between June 29 and July 5, involved both “high precision weapons” and drones, the ministry said in a statement on Friday. They hit Ukrainian airfields, as well as energy infrastructure used to power the country’s military-industrial complex. Sites where Kiev’s missiles were being stored and prepared for launch were also successfully targeted. Russian missiles and UAVs also destroyed fuel depots used for Ukrainian hardware, and assembly shops for aerial drones and unmanned boats, the ministry added. During the past week, Russian air-defense systems shot down two Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29s and one Su-27 jet, five US-supplied ATACMS missiles, 14 Storm Shadow cruise missiles that had been donated by Britain, 42 rockets for US-made HIMARS, and Czech-made Vampire systems, as well as 451 drones of various types, the statement read. The total losses incurred by the Ukrainian military over the past seven days have reached up to 13,500 servicemen, according to the defense ministry. The most intense fighting apparently took place in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where more than 7,700 Ukrainian troops were killed or severely wounded. - RT

Russian Army began using the latest S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft system in Ukraine, which can attack 12 to 16 targets simultaneously against aircraft and cruise missile threats. S-350 battery destroyed 12 Himars rockets, against American Atacms missiles, as well as the British Storm Shadow. The system offers a series of advantages over other systems. Ukrainian equipment and manpower destroyed by FPV drones on the Right Bank of the Dnieper River. Russian drones hit food warehouses hidden in large trucks, ammunition supplies of mortar crews and Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups towards the left bank were destroyed as well as other targets within 24 hours of the operation of the Airborne Forces Group "Dnepr". - Military Tube Today

any country that buys US weapons have rocks in their heads, this is proof US weapons are garbage - expensive, complicated, over engineered, requires lots of maintenance, requires perfect conditions to operate in, requires lots of training, is fun to play with on the simulator and makes $$ squillions for the weapons manufacturer, and cannotdefeat farmers and goat herders with AK47's and sandals (take your pick out of Vietnam, Afghanistan or Iraq for starters). Meanwhile RU equ is much cheaper, easier to operate, and designed to work where it matters most - the battlefieldbut then this is what this war is about after overthrowing Putin failed - destrow the German steel industry and make NATO offload all of their equipment so they will be forced to buy new US equipment who says Americas forever wars don't pay?

As always, a Wonderful summation of the elections however you didn’t mention a very momentous outcome In N Ireland. Sinn Fein has become the largest political party in Westminster, Stormont and in the local councils, a hat trick of success that for the first time in history sees a Nationalist party with the largest mandate! Also, this makes them the 5th largest party in the Commons due to the unfortunate collapse of the SNP in Scotland. Also the UUP have an MP for the first time in years and the DUP vote collapsed probably like the SNP - due to a large extent on the criminal proceedings facing both of the party leaders?
