I had to replace the bottle extender plate so I made a video in case it helps anyone else.
In order to replace the plate, I have to drop the crank, chainring, motor and battery.
In fact the Chain Whip tool wasn't used as I was able to get leverage from the other crank arm.
First time I've done it I used the bike stand but it was easier to do it on the floor.

Good to see the battery removal, thank you. Just a tip though, if you do this with your Rise upside down, the motor won’t drop and it makes it a million times easier to reinstall everything 👍🏻

Cheers Chris, the reason I've done this is because my bushings are not staying put as I've replaced the frame. So they would fall into the frame, especially when reinstalling everything.

I was told the battery was permanently installed in the Rise - seems that it can be removed and replaced if necessary! thanks for this video.

It can definitely be removed & replaced, you'd just need a few tricky tools and a bit of time but at least it's doable! Glad it helps.

I think it's a lot easier to work on the motor with the bike simply being turned around on it's head. That way you also do not risk it falling down, pulling the wires.

i wonder why there's so much dirt inside when the motor has a cover. now would be a good time to check the wires for any issue and clean the underbelly. at 10:06, where did those spacers come from? Very good tutorial video!

There'll be dust, water going from the headset or cable holes but I wouldn't worry about that. Spacers are in-between the motor and frame (for the screws holding the motor). Thx!

Hi, it is from Rockguards you can get it from link below. It is not very strong like amygos but weights ~50 grams. I am happy with it to be honest and would buy it again or fix it with resin if it breaks, smashed it a couple of times in rocks and it held up but sometimes you only need one hit to break it. rockguardz.com/ www.amygos.fr/

BOTH of them dont fit!!! after looking online for a while i found a installation guide for the cranks only... inside the manual it says use TL-FC430... from looking at it, it seem like it should fit... but im not sure u also use a total differnt one???

Curious, was this done because the internal female thread stripped that holds the water bottle cage/battery extender bracket? I have the Hydro and now concerned that one needs to be carful with those threads. Thanks for posting!

The screws got stripped actually so the male. The original screws are famous for getting stripped... I used stripped screw removal bits and was able to remove one but the other one couldn't get it out even with a drill.

@suspensioncheck
@suspensioncheck Жыл бұрын
Hi Patrik, everything stays in place if you turn the bike upside down. You can remove the battery and motor but you won't be able to ride it as cranks are being held by the motor. If you look for a bike where you can do that search for a bike with Fazua motor.

how much would a bike shop charge for battery removal?

Have no idea but if I was a shop in Dublin I'd need to charge 150-200 euro probably as there's all kinds of expenses, tools, rent, employees, insurances and profit. It's an hour of work for someone that has done this before.

How do you keep the bushings from falling off while replacing the motor?
@suspensioncheck

It was so difficult and I struggled a lot without other tools. In the end I gave up and brought the bearing puller set. I used the inner tool from the set to hold the bushings in position while I put the motor in with the bike upside down.

Thanks for the video! Reg. the two bushings, mine came without o-rings… I‘ve added these now but found it pretty easy to re-install the motor, because the bushings somehow „pop“ into the frame and stay there. I‘ve just inserted the two concerned motor bolts half-way and these held the bushings in place while wiggling the motor in. I am asking just out of curiosity what the challenges were, why the tool is needed…? 😊

If you want a real review of the orbea rise then go to trust pilot and read the reviews. The company is terrible. I bought an orbea rise and 3 months later the frame snapped. Orbea are terrible with customer service, immediately offered a crash replacement for £££ and won’t honour the ‘lifetime warranty’
@suspensioncheck
@suspensioncheck 2 жыл бұрын
In what spot it broke and did you hit it? I broke the frame at the headtube and paid for crash replacement warranty 900e. In fairness it was a very brutal impact that I'm not sure many bikes would've survived.
