Thanks for the video. One small clarification.... the visible fuse is the spare. The active fuse is under the insulating paper cover. These videos help lots of DIYers.

Hi Gary, I have this exact timer. When I set the timer to my desired time and it gets to that point, my sprinklers don't turn on. The timer/control box does do a count down of the duration as if it's working, but sprinkler does not actually turn on. Does that mean the timer box is broken and needs to get replaced? I'm a first time home owner and have never used a sprinkler until now. To confirm, my sprinkler does work when I manually turn the valves as well. Issue seems to be something electrical.

What does the icon "off pwr" mean exactly? My model 57974 seems to work but sprinklers don't turn on. Bad solenoids? They worked last season.

You display is telling you the AC power source is off. The display will still show for a temporary time until the battery dies. It also will appear to be running the valves but doesn’t have enough current to turn them on. Hope that helps, don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel. 👍

@@garyssprinklerrepair Thanks, and you're right. I finally sat down in front of this old controller, again, which I had just added new batteries to. It is attached to a ground fault outlet so of course that was the issue. As soon as I reset the outlet I was immediately sprinkled. I forget how to set this thing each season. I sat for 15 minutes putting all the times in for two periods of night time irrigation. Couldn't figure out how to select AM or PM so while working in the yard in the afternoon the sprinklers came on and quickly gave me two periods of sprinkling with a 10 minute interval. This is not an easy controller to set up. No- There is no such thing as "common sense". Thank you for your reply and for your valuable posts. My controller is older than yours.

You’re welcome, when you turn the dial to set time and day, hit the next button until you show the hour, use the plus/minute button to scroll thru the hours to make sure am/pm are correct. If it’s correct for am/pm there then next go to start times it will show the 1start using the plus/minus button to change it to am or pm..hit next now it shows the 2nd start time use the plus/minus button to scroll to the time you want making sure it says amor pm depending on what you want.
