Yeah ,agree. Turned off when it started . Oh well people do fascinate with the name killerwhale and then put shit deadly music to it to make them out to be ferocious animals when they are 1 of the most intelligent cratures on the planet . I think its fascinating on how they work together as one .

Beautiful footage and we have lots of fantastic whale watching companies around here on Vancouver Island. But I have to agree with the comment about the music: sorry it's quite distracting.

There so beautiful and gentle, especially where they belong. With there pods, and families in the open ocean's. I did get to give one a kiss and rub his belly. It was something I'll never forget. That was before I found out what Sea world, and all the other's were about. Never again will I visit a sea world. Four people have been killed in history, by an orca. 3 were trainer's, and one homeless guy who snuck in a orca pool at night. Thank God there protected now! 🙏 🙏 🐋

@xandra2705 i am planning trip to victoria and mainly want to go to kayak with killer whales, do you know what is the best time? I heard that in late May/June for the southern resident orcas near Victoria and July and August for the east side of the island, is it true? i`ll be really grateful if you share your experience

+Nadya Miroslavova Hi, sorry for the late answer. I really don't know what is the best time. We went there 2 times in September, that was a perfect time to go.
@kyleenglot9184
@kyleenglot9184 6 жыл бұрын
The southern resident orcas are generally in the southern parts of Vancouver Island ranging from early May until the end of September. It’s usually the time when Chinook Salmon (the resident orcas favourite food) are making their way to the large river systems to reach their spawning grounds. The orcas are less common during the fall and winter since there isn’t really a lot of salmon in the area during those seasons. There’s also a northern resident orca population found around the northern part of Vancouver Island usually spotted around Campbell River and along the Johnsotne Strait which is a very popular destination for resident orcas to feed on salmon.

I'm convinced orcas get annoyed by people. Whale watching has become such huge business in recent years, these guys seldom get a break from boats chasing them around. I was on a tour a few years back, and the guide obviously did not give a shit about the conservation laws. Our first encounter was a pod of about 100 dolphins or so, all playing and jumping about, feeding, and swimming in circles. Other companies' boats were already in the area, as well as recreational fishermen, and all were keeping their distance. What does our asshole guide do? Blows past everybody, and parks right on top of them, not that the dolphins seemed to mind. After some time, the dolphins suddenly started bolting close to shore, and Cpt. Shithead stayed right on top of them. It turns out, they were heading for cover, as a pod of nine transient orcas were moving into the area. Naturally, Cpt. Shithead made chase of the orcas, and when we finally caught up with them, they split into three groups of three. A clear signal in my opinion, that they wanted nothing to do with us, as we couldn't possibly annoy three groups simultaneously. The orcas were clearly on the move, and uninterested in hunting dolphins, or nosing around boats. We stuck with the big male, because of course we did, and he swam up alongside the boat on his side, looked me in the eye, before breaking off and leaping clear out of the water in alarmingly close proximity, as if to send a warning shot across the bow. I think he was just pissed off and tired of this shit, and perhaps trying to scare us off. It was a bit unsettling for me, because I grew up fishing these waters, and never seen this type of behaviour before, but then again I've never chased them around like a dickhead. IDK, maybe I'm wrong, but they do have to put up with shithead humans all the way from Alaska to Southern Chile. Seems obvious to me that they'd get annoyed after awhile.
