Tegan Burns I go to the freezer on a mission to find the most delectable treat and find some digornios pizza a nice find for this hungry boy now put in the oven for 20 minutes it won’t be long, soon it will be ready, 20 minutes of my struggling hungry stomach and the oven starts beeping, the pizza is done, I go for a pizza cutter then my heart sinks when I realize.... it’s in the dish washer and I must use a regular knife which will mess up the toppings, I manage to get a slice but not without the difficulty of messing up the toppings with the knife, now I go to the table to eat, then realize my family is taking all the seats, this member of the pack will need to find elsewhere to eat, so I head to my room and must navigate around the mess of plates and bowls, I make it to my bed without hitting a single obstacle, then I turn on the tv to some walking dead, some real good cinematics, I unhinge my jaw and bite the pizza, it is crunchy and tasty, I must remember that it’s not delivery it’s digornio.

@@user-jc6tj2xt1p How on Earth is that karma? That's like saying a hyena getting killed by a lion for hunting a young wildebeest is evil, anyone with a brain knows things like "good" and "evil" aren't applicable to wild animals and literally have no place in the ecosystem/food chain. Sea lions eat penguins because they happen to be nutritious, thinking they're evil or something is just stupid.

This sequence is even more interesting than others realize. After the initial strike, by what seems to be a female Orca the follow up hits are by a very young Orca, probably the offspring of the female. She seems to be teaching her offspring how to finish off a large prey item. This may seem cruel , but nature is not cruel she is indifferent. You can view this as a sad event or as a marvelous example of intergenerational instruction. Predators kill to eat.

KrisKringle2, if you are going to comment on nature videos, at least know what you speak of, I am sure that you aware that this sea lion is also a predator, which kills and eats other creatures that live in the ocean. So should we kill the sea lions also for dog food??
@KrisKringle2
@KrisKringle2 6 жыл бұрын
Joe Sarnak - I do know. Maybe you should think a little harder before you reply. What kind of creatures do pinnipeds, dolphins, and porpoises eat, for the most part......fish and crustaceans. In other words, creatures with pretty low levels of sentience. There's a difference in sentience between mammals and insects. Now, sentience is a hard philosophical nut to crack and who knows at what level it begins and what degrees it takes on, but your answer ignores the question totally. Plants also are alive. Sponges are animals with no nervous system. All life except photovores, chemovores, and detrivores, live on other life. It's the destruction of conscious beings that's the 'crime', and the more 'conscious', the more sentient, the prey the greater the 'crime'. AFAIC.
@bkjeong4302
@bkjeong4302 6 жыл бұрын
KrisKringle2 The idea fish have “low levels of sentience” is false. Fish in general (especially larger, predatory ones) are MUCH smarter than people realize. You mentioned insects....irrelevant to this debate. And marine mammals also eat cephalopods which are about as smart as seals and sea lions.
@KrisKringle2
@KrisKringle2 6 жыл бұрын
Fish, including sharks are much lower than the majority of mammals and birds. Cephalopods are smart, but I doubt they're anywhere near as smart as pinnipeds or other mammalian carnivores. Insects are a place on the scale, lower than higher veterbrates, and the smarter crustaceans are somewhere between the two. The key idea is that there is a scale, and the higher the level of the consumed the more vile it is. I won't eat crustaceans or cephalopods myself. I especially would condemn dropping them alive into boiling water.

tmhwriter They do. But I'm not sure it's as malicious as it looks. You have to remember, their calves, like human babies are essentially a blank slate at birth. They mature slowly, and everything they need to survive has to be learned from the adults of their pod. So what looks like torture to us, is often just a teaching exercise for the kids. The adults will cripple prey, then hang back and allow the juveniles to make the kill. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't make it any less painful or terrifying for the seal. It's just not an act of senseless cruelty.

why? you don't have anything to fear from orcas. in fact, you are quite safe around them. no shark will ever do you any harm

It appears something was protruding from the sea lion’s back or side. Mesmerizing footage, I had to replay many parts.

The attack in the above video is equivalent to a sheep attacking, killing and making a meal out of a bear. The killer whale's closest terrestrial relative are sheep, while a seal's closest living terrestrial relative is a bear. How millions of years of evolution in the sea has turned the tables.

@@TejanoDeFuego actually it has been seen an orca killing alone a great white. they are bigger heavier faster and most importantly way more clever than great whites. in south africa 2 of them was able to kill at least 5 great whites and when another pack of orcas come to that area (its the most supported belief) a population of 300 great whites just left the area bc they were scared of the orcas. no matter what you believe orcas are the apex sea predator not great whites and thats a fact
