After being a rockabilly through 1979/80 I then heard Enola gay and fell in love with synth music.This group helped change my life for the better and this tune was one of the greatest hits of the 80's. Whenever I see OMD live and they play this it just brings back some fantastic memories of the early 80's.How I would love to live those days again.Architecture and morality was such a tremendous album with so many fantastic tunes.

This classic was in the charts exactly 40 years ago, my first Christmas after leaving school, what a time to be 16 years old going to the pub and playing this and many others on the jukebox

I was born and raised in the GDR and I loved OMD from the first time. Especially when I couldn't hear the music legally whenever I wanted. So it was very special to listen to them. ❤️

Love this song, relaxes, soothes and calms the soul. Takes me back to a time when nothing really mattered but the music, no worries, no stress, life was good.

@DaXande1354 жыл бұрын

OMD were years ahead of their time , well done Andy and the rest of the Birkenhead lads , its 2022 we're on the verge of war and this track still sounds brilliant, im 54 now , just proves how good omd really were

I was once hired as a DJ at a wedding and they asked me to play a waltz for the newlyweds to dance to. I played this song and the whole wedding party cheered by the first sounds of it. Not to mention that the bride and the groom loved it, the dancefloor filled quickly and they all thanked me later especially for that stroke of genius to play Maid of Orleans instead of some classical piece (which I failed to bring to the party).
